Made a fortune out of getting sacked from managers job, what qualities did the Plymouth owner Simon Hallett see in Rooney, he was former CIO of the $80 billion asset manager, Harding Loevner so he must be a fairly intelligent fella.

Given Rooney’s record in er, …management, they’ve probably sold a few less if their fans have a functioning brain.

It’s amazing he got a job, if I was a Plymouth fan I would be fuming, one game in and he’s already threatening his players etc , zero concept of shared responsibility

He did a decent job at Derby after they'd been deducted a bag full of points a couple of seasons ago.

shows how a name is seen as more important than having ability. this is not the first or last time this situation will happen.

I’m not exactly a Rooney fan but give him his due he’s not waited around for a big club like Gerrard and Lampard.

Didn't need to - there's already a waiting list of 4,000 for season tickets. Although I'd imagine a few will become available again if he stays in post more than a few weeks...
