Came across a channel called ‘Grey Matters’ and had a feature where Sir Andrew Dilnot has suggested to Chancellor Rachel Reeves that pensioners should pay 8% of their income in National Insurance payments as a ‘Social Care Tax’ .
Let’s hope she turns a deaf ear.

I read that on Google news.
And this on top of a 15% increase for Oaps with the winter allowance being taken away.

Not a good start for Labour.
The next election is already a done deal.
A bit like the one we just had.

Arseholes these Politicians.
Promise you the world then shit on ya like Seagulls.

I saw the same story but then I saw another one which said that it was going to be for pensioners who continue to work after retirement age.

Hence the increased focus on legalising assisted dying - you're out of the system then AND they'll take as much as they can of what you leave.

Whilst not in agreement if they did that then no one should have to lose their property or funds to pay for social care.
There was talk as mentioned during the last governments tenure if you worked passed your retirement age they might introduce N.I for those people.

But it’s the same people who work for the DWP, you can change the government as many times as you want but the civil servants never lose their jobs. They will be advising what ever government is in power the best wat way to extract money from people.

no the under 25,s and the 16 to 18 year olds by the time of the next general election. Well thats only on the cards if there is no proof of that age group going right instead of left.
