As its been so deathly quiet at the Vic for the past few weeks some of you might be interested to see how our transfer business to date compares with the other 23 clubs in the NL:

https://gloverscast.co.uk/national-leag ... -26-07-24/

It's easy to see most clubs have been more active than Pools in the transfer market, but you'd need an encyclopedic knowledge of lower EFL and non-league football to know how good their business has been!

One of the things that stands out is that Oldham and Forest Green haven't been very busy either, and they're among the clubs fancied for promotion.

Barnet, Rochdale and Dagenham have all signed more players than they let go, which might be an indication that they really aim to go for it this season.

Newly promoted Braintee have signed 14 players, so it looks as their chairman's got a decent sized piggy bank too!

A lot of signings isn’t necessarily a sign of anything.
Could it be the clubs most active in the transfer market are not satisfied with the players they had last season and are replenishing the shelves, so to speak and also dumping the players they think not good enough.
A club happy with a good percentage of it’s players won’t be doing much business. sctatchinghead

FGR are one of those teams who've signed quality for this level---they will be right at the top end of the table this season

We'll not know until the season is underway, what's to say some of the fancied teams and big spenders don't lose their better players to injury as we did last season.

non league scene seems to see clubs signing players on yearly contracts, get rid when they are up and bring in similar numbers. its a bit of a merry go round especially for the greater london area ones. those who are unnatached i wonder if some of them are the ones sarll has made offers to and the ball is in their court.

THE Signing of the SUMMER so far...

MR Bostock to Solihull.

very good player for this level - one of those that was wanted by Man Utd and Real Madrid in his youth.

How things could have been for the lad - helped Notts County romp this league last time out and did very well for them in the league too.

you know every signing a club in our league makes will end up far better than the ones we sign and then we see em and are totally underwhelmed even if they do have a household name.

we also see the return of Harry Beautyman and Craig Eastmond <<< both top class players last time down here with Sutton. Both moved on now but still in the NL. Id imagine these 2 making the team of the week on the regular too.
