Who said this…
We are socialists. We are the enemies of today’s capitalist system of exploitation and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions.

Came across this quotation in a book last night, surprised me.

I’ve read three biographies on Hitler and Stalin to get a wider appreciation and interpretation and that quotation gets you thinking.
Someone asked what was the difference between them and someone replied that Hitler retired his generals who failed, Stalin shot them…apart from his chums from the early years.

You might not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

I'll let the good people of the Bunker tell you who said that.

If you google it, apparently it was someone who worked for the Nazis called Gregor Strasser who was killed under orders from Hitler.

He made a speech similar to that in 1925, but the quotation was longer, Strasser fell out and was killed in the ‘Night of the Long Knives’ on Hitler’s orders in 1934, His younger brother Otto had left Germany in 1933.

You can read Gregor Strasser’s similar statement quite easily on Wikipedia. You’ll see the similarity but Strassers is a bit more long winded, bearing in mind Hitler was a genius at rejigging a message that keeps it to the direct points to catch the eye and ear of the audience, his skills at controlling a crowd were phenomenal.
Best biography of Hitler is Ian Kershaw’s in my opinion and ‘The face of the Third Reich’ by German author Joachim E Fest is a really good read

He was wicked, but not as wicked as Stalin, but wicked nonetheless.
He’s a mass of contradictions, an opportunist lacking principles and obsessed by power. He was evil, not mad, just devoted to exercising power for his own foul purposes.

Well that's an eye opener I always had the opinion he was a genius who failed because he started to feel he was a god. Thanks for that response Snowy it certainly clears up the real mustache

Research has revealed he suffered from Irritable bowel syndrome, skin lesions, cardiac dysrhythmia, coronary arterial disease, syphillis, Amphetamine addiction, Parkinson’s Disease and Borderline personality disorder ( no ‘borderline’ about it in my opinion).
His problem was compounded by his personal ‘physician’Dr Morrell who was basically a quack and regarded as such by Goering, Speer and Himmler.
However Hitler would hear no criticism and Morrell was his personal physician till the end of the war, treating Hitler with a cocktail of dubious remedies, which contributed to his failing health.
Considering Hitler was a vegetarian, non smoking, non drinking lover of cream teas and Wagner Opera’s it makes you wonder if it’s good for you. sctatchinghead

Hitler was a mug for these crackpot remedies and astrology too.
Churchill had several series episodes brought on by burning the candle at both ends which given the circumstances was understandable.
People who despite being what would have lived by today’s standards, drinking etc providing they stuck to that standard regime they tended to live to a ripe old age, it’s the change that causes the problems.
I read a report once that found that in the 1950’s, dockers were the fittest workers due to the nature of the work unloading everything by hand, the catch was that average life expectancy was 56 years.

i,ll stick by my old mothers advice for a long life, do anything you like but in moderation. not bad advice as she lived to 100. can imagine plenty of todays lot will also have long lives but the lives will feel a lot longer than hers did.

Moderation in diet and activity is the key…..given the diet of todays young Isuspect there will be a downturn in longevity for the first time.

Remember a tv interview with a chap on his 100th birthday. When asked what he put it down to living so long he replied “I don’t want to die”

think there has already been one recently. start em off as early as possible. increase it over the years and then reduce it in later life but never down to nothing. get yourselves a dog as they force you out and possibly cheaper and certainly more interesting than a bloody gym or pounding the streets running. plus its a good way to meet women as there seems plenty walking theirs and a good and cheap ice breaker. thinking again, wish i,d never bought a dog now saying that.

Wait until the all start Kelling over when they're in their 50s onward .and release that about 50% of them wont see a state pension.

There's also the very real prospect of Type 2 Diabetes going stratisferic costing the NHS billions, in years to come, As younger people are diagnosed with it. Due to poor diet.

How many people under 40 eat vegetables..or fruit.
All I see is pizza’s, curry, Chinese and burgers being guzzled….and the concept of getting sizzled before you go out will catch up with you.
Why do they allow vapes…? Ok on prescription but the cigarette companies are getting their new generations of nicotine addicted buyers when fags went out of fashion..a licence to print money.
The best of all is those advocating decriminalising drugs and selling them in shops and taxing them…..oblivious to the fact the dealers will just undercut them and no identity checks needed when you buy them.

go somewhere new and ask somebody with knowledge of the place and ask em where is the best place to eat they,ll come out with a list of indian or chinese places or burger bars and pizza places. just need to look at football ground guides and the importance they put on places to drink booze and nothing else.
