Playing away to Coventry tonight ( ITV4 ) in the 5th round. Already beat Ipswich away last round. The Manager is a total one off and we'll worth listening to. He honestly believes they can beat any team in the cup. If they win tonight it will be a record for a non league team in the Cup. The last team to get this far was the incredible Blyth Spartans who filled St. James Park and lost by a single goal.

The news channels only talked about Maidstone and Blyth Spartans today which is why I totally forgot about BW in 2022. Not sure if any mentioned BW today. sctatchinghead

You got me checking frankie and Lincoln got to the quarter finals in 2017 another one I forgot about. My own worst enemy really I always say take the news with a pinch of salt and then believed the crap today without checking first. banghead

Maybe something to do with Maidstone being NL South rather than NL so are lower down the pyramid than Boreham and Lincoln were when they reached this stage.

biggest question is how they will spend all the money they have made out of the cup run. do a raj or make it work for them.

The money is being used to replace the 4g which is due to be changed. The use of the pitch 7 days a errk helps to keep the club solvent.

Is the Rink End Land big enough to build a 7 a side rent out AstroTurf pitch.
Obviously behind the new vamped 4000 Stand.

It is if they knock the houses down….……I’d like to know how they find a use for it 7 days a week because having actually seen this in operation the idea of making money out of it, unless they fill it 12 hours a day, is a mystery.

they,ll make far more money out of it than they would a grass pitch and do not need a groundsman. heard the maximum length of time they have is 10 years and thats after a big initial outlay. guess they,d get plenty of uptake in the evenings and on a sunday throught the year with only dribs and drabs during the day. £150 quid a game is charged for sunday league teams in bradford so there isn,t a rush to book them.

They don’t have to pay for trading facilities either.

So they have no immediate plans to climb up the league.
Everyone talks up artificial pitches as a money spinner with glowing forecasts from the suppliers….reality is……..

they are getting better and better though and unlike the ones preston and oldham had years ago. there must be something in it for some as the initial outlay is so high to put them in. unless league rules are changed putting one in could prove disasterous if you are promote into the league quickly after you lay one. always feel if a club does get one they really are just happy where they are and might realise they,ll never succeed as a league club anyway.
