Tetley & Yorkshire Tea are saying there could be a shortage of tea in the coming weeks.

Some of the comments are blaming the problems in the Red Sea. You could not make up these stories. Another reason to increase the price of tea, that will never go down again.

Supermarkets will be stripped of tea in the next 7/10 days as panic buying starts again. I noticed at the weekend that milk has gone down from £1.45 for 2 litres to £1.35, that's a start at least.

Milk was £1.45 for 4 pints in Iceland, they put their price down to £1.35 but reduced the size to 2 litres, about 3 and a half pints, effectively an increase.

Milk needed to go up - farmers have been selling off their dairy herds because the supermarkets pay less for the milk than the cost of producing it.

Not that that would effect Iceland - I’d have money on that they import their milk from some place or other.

Milk was sold as a loss leader by the supermarkets, they also put loads of doorstep delivery companies out of business.

well we get ours delivered by a local farmer who only charges 1.45 for 4 pints which is not much more than supermarkets charge and has not gone up since he started about 6 years back. doubt he is doing that as a loss leader unless his accountant is good at finding something in his favour.

Even if the Red Sea was closed and had to re-route around the Cape the delay would at worst be a fortnight and no delays consequently because the alternative route was then established. No excuse.
Any shortages are caused by that section of the British public who cause these shortages with their greed, scavenging fuck everyone else I’m alright Jack view of life.

if there is a glut on anything on the shelves and in the warehouse the best way to shift em is saying there will be a shortage of them coming up.

Toilet rolls in Covid. Caused by a shortage in Australia because they imported theirs from China. Yet people over here where we make our own, stockpiled something unrelated to Covid.
