budtz made some excellent saves BUT his kicking was shocking and he launched the ball into touch from goal kicks several times wouldnt come off his line at corners he seems a very good shot stopper but so was jim provett.
antwi was found out a bit last night and nearly dropped us in it several times with wayward clearances our problem last night was that we allowed them to run at us over and over and did not get the tackles in.
mind for all that i thought we did well we held our own for 119 minutes against a championship team who shot on sight but we still try to play the ball into the net.
very good turn out by poolies one or two "'back slapping fcukwits' with 'heads bigger than the angel of the north' and 'egos larger than Greenland'." that i spoke to but a 8000 crowd was poor

Although I voted for McCunnie myself I find it amusing that 5 of the 6 votes are for defenders as I thought the shape of the defence was all over the place (apart from McCunnie which is why I voted for him...obviously sctatchinghead).

I agree.

Very strange. stpid

Although one or two comments I've read on here today have baffled me already. sctatchinghead

But I voted for Liddle.

People slag Budtz off but he kept us in the game with 5 or 6 great saves, including two headers from point blank range. I dunno about anyone else but il settle for dodgy kicking when he is pulling saves off like that.

Any other keeper and we would have conceded at least. I get the impression some would rather see straight kicking and a 5-1 defeat? rolfl

Budtz did make a few good looking saves.

But they were "Match of the Day" saves in the main.

Any pro keeper who didn't save them shouldn't be playing League football.

Regardless, he was one of the team and should be up there as a choice.

Even if they only allow 10 options, you have put players in who were poor and will never be voted man of the match and left out a player (budtz) who was great. I fail to see the logic.

Who are you saying was poor then?

In my humble opinion I reckon Budtz was our weakest player last night.

This is no secret as I've rated the players out of 10 on another thread.

Therefore, seeing as though I put the poll option up and had to limit the choices to 10 then I left him off the list.

Cos I can.

From what I heard from people there and from radio coverage, Budtz had a blinder. I think you're the only one who disagrees with the logic.

Cos you can, evidently

I can, you're right, cos I was there and I watched him.

And I wasn't the only one there who thought the same, trust me.

If you are referring to me you couldn't be more wrong.

In fact, try looking at the thread "Unlucky Pools" which I wrote this morning before you even logged on for me to disagree with you. It's quite clear on my opinions of last night.

I would have voted for Budtz and I was there. I also disagreed with your viewpoint of the performance, Mr R, but then I think quite a few people had differeing views of things. I am not saying you were right or I am right, both opinions are valid but I think Budtz might have got a few votes should he have been included.

If I could have put everybody on the list then I would have.

I didn't leave him out through spite like I didn't with Willie Boland (he's not on the list either), or with any of the other omissions in previous weeks.

Now that Mr I has changed the settings then everybody involved in the game will be included on the voting list in future cos I agree with you that we're all entitled to our opinions and that not everybody will agree with me (even though I'm right  )

Budtz - good shot stopper, but last night couldn't keep hold of the ball, poor kicking and there seemed to be no talking to nelse and antwi - panic in the defence at times - reminded me of taffy williams laat night!

Exactly, you know that goal he conceded against Newcastle where it slipped out of his hands...there was a moment where I thought he was going to do the same but he just managed to get a hold of it.

Obviously, I'm not a scientist but what is making his gloves like oil? Is it an extreme type of sweat?
