This is mental, scrabbling around trying to see the positive side of us struggling to a draw with Wealdstone.

Well I have been behind Askey after the upturn at the end of last season and the start we had but he clearly cannot manage a defence and that's where results are built from. I fancy taking a bet at the bookies that we concede within the first 10 minutes v Oldham I wonder what the odds are. I think It's time we brought someone else in, it can't get any worse.....Can it?

There is always a long list of applications for managers jobs. As for Askey he admits the defence is poor but they are virtually all his signings.

There is no positive side, it’s all so erratic. No stability or consistency on the field.

I switched of after 76 minutes and 4-2 down. I am not surprised we drew. Any other time
I would be happy in normal circumstances but football is not meant to be a game where you allow teams to score and then it’s a game to see if you can catch up. You do it in the juniors when everyone wants to play upfront and you haven’t developed positional awareness. Anyone with a heart complaint should not attend these games. Now going to watch post match. I think we are down. You know and I know we can’t sort the defence out.

If you can’t defend you can’t win matches. Simple as! I don’t care about the spirit. It’s just total madness. The fault is with Askey and Sweeney. Just hope Mani is ok

You’re right there, an enthusiastic player is like an enthusiastic electrician,, dangerous if they can’t actually do their job correctly…no matter how enthusiastic they are.

it could have been a lot worse if we had scored when they did and they fought back twice from the dead to gain a point.

loke it or not they are above pools in the league so an away point is not that bad. ots the manner of it being 4 all. if it had been a bore goaless draw or 1 all most would be happier. we have known for months that the only way we can win is to outscore the opposition.

At 3-0 down 99.9% of supporters would have got shot of Askey, Whats changed!
This blokes tactics (he said this himself) Get the ball into the attacking 3rd as quickly as possible.
Did alright did he not.

Look up boiled frog syndrome. That's what is happening here. Then take a step back and look at this situation?

What on Earth is OK about struggling in the lower half of the fifth tier, being glad we were able to fight back from a hideous defensive display to scrape a point against the mighty Wealdstone? If I could go back just a few years and ask your average Pools fan whether there would be anything at all 'OK' about this scenario, they'd look at you like you'd lost your mind.

Theres nothing OK about this. There are only degrees of woefulness

What upturn we were relegated.

Your correct he can not handle a defence, Otherwise we would have stayed up.
Defence was crap then and still is, And he,s had the summer to sort it.

If his ’tactics’ are so good how come we conceded three goals before his tactics kicked in…….sctatchinghead

after throwing away 2 goal leads at oxford and chesterfield this might be the new tactic of gifting the opposition a start. the first option certainly didn,t work to plan.
