Did anyone actually like school dinners?

I remember at Jessy Jailhouse they once made lemonade semolina (seriously). I got some to try but it was truly rank. When I took it to the bint to clean the plate she sent me back to my seat to eat it (biitch)

I forced it down and approx 1 hour later while in class during a presentation i chundered like I have never chundered before. It went all over a scale model of jesmond rd school that the teacher had made. It probably took weeks/months to make. Serves them right for employing such awful dinnerladies like. rage

The name doesnt ring a bell but I cant remember many names. I was there from about 83 to 89, you?

I remember Mr and Mrs Dodds. They were well into country dancing and stuff and felt the need to impose it upon the kids. Everyone else hated it.

Oh and Mr Tozer the headmaster followed by Miss Crighton (who I think is a magistrate these days)

The bad old days.....

KIDS YOU CAN'T BLOODY MOVE FOR KIDS ON THIS BOARD

SCHOOL DINNERS I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT SCHOOL DINNERS
UP TO OUR NECKS IN MUCK N BULLETS WE WERE
THEN THEY TOLD US THERE WILL BE NO POTATO'S FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS
WE HAD EVERY DINNER YOU COULD IMAGINE AND NO POTATO'S
ROAST BEEF AND YORKSHIRE PUDDING WITH BREAD
EVERY MEAL WAS WITH BREAD
YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN BORN WHINGE WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO WHINGE ABOUT.

the muck n bullets stuff is true our school hart road was previously a billet for soldiers and they had a rifle range at the back of the school either side of this school yard was a small garden that ran the length of the yard and about twenty feet across every time you lifted a clod of earth there was spent bullets sticking out
some kids collected marbles we hart road kids collected bullets

Lol, Miss Fawcett (she was known as hairy mole for obvious reasons and inevitably she got known as 'foreskin' too!) As kids we were so inventive!

I was at Jessie under Miss Crightons reign. I left in 93 though.

Mince and dumplings from the jailhouse dinner hall where top notch to be fair.

Worse than the dinners I was handed my debut for the footy team by a pube headed loid called Mr Brown. We did reach the semi final though of the half time penalty comp at the Vic. One of the games we played Hart during half time of a Pools V Stoke match. We all went around twice and the scores where still level and someone decided that sudden death would be decided by free kicks from outside of the box!!!? I swear to God the players where stood on the side of the pitch waiting to start the second half by the time yours truly curled the winner into the top corner

Cheers Bri.

I went to tunny all those years ago and it has taken until now for someone to explain this to me. Thanks

Fawcett and I shared a mutual loathing of each other.

The look on her face when I got turfed out of the royal box at Newcastle theatre for being drunk and waving at everybody was priceless. I thought she was going to have a stroke.

Stephen Wilson, you probably could have guessed it from my e mail address though. Your brother might have known Mrs Ripper then she was in my year at school.

No-one in particular, I just know the people my brother used to hang around with, or people who went to Throston.
