Don't sound that optimistic, in fact a bit defeatist:

HARTLEPOOL
Posted on: Fri 24 Aug 2007

Dean Glover is expecting a tough game against Hartlepool United on Saturday afternoon, but feels we can come good and get something out of the game.

He said: "Hartlepool are a good, strong, organised side and they are still on a high from last year.

"They have won one of their two games so far, having beaten Doncaster at home last weekend and we know it won't be an easy game for us.

"We have been preparing to combat what they are going to throw at us and hopefully we can get something out of the game.

"We have been working a bit harder in training and have been working on our own weaknesses because we have got to make ourselves stronger and improve our own game.

"In pre-season we were scoring goals for fun. We are creating chances at the moment but the luck isn't just going our way at the moment.

"We are emphasising that we have got to keep on doing that and hopefully we will turn the corner this weekend.

"It would be even harder and more frustrating if we weren't creating chances, but down at Yeovil last weekend we were very disappointed with the first half performance.

"We came out in the second half and created chances, so if we can keep doing that, something will fall our way and we can go on from there.

"Fortunately we've got no more mid-week games now for a while so it gives us a bit more of a chance to work with the lads for a bit longer.

"We will be concentrating on the job in hand on Saturday and hopefully everything will go well for us."

anyhoo[x2] "DEANO" got out of his car and joined in with said kickabout, did a 2footed tackle on a "lad" who started him then kicked seven differant shades of shit outta him

Very observant.
Consider my failure to do so an experiment (an ongoing one).

But he does seem to have had some sort of personality change, from the pleasant (for a Loid) poster who came on here last season.

It seems my feeling was wrong, and Akpo is indeed a bag of shite! No need to argue ladies.

From the commentary, it was said he missed three sitters in the first half alone. Last season he was alongside Constantine and they did well, seems like on his own he's average at best.

That is exactly what we told Port Vale a year ago. He can't finish. He works hard and wins plenty in the air, but he needs someone to put the chances away for him.

But apparently Sheff Wed are now wanting to pay Port Vale a few hundred grand for him!
