He is 81 today and isn't it time there is an age limit on these people in World power? (Even Trump is 77)

There is a Republican Senator who is 90!

There apparently is a new word for this "GERONTOCRACY" which means a Government ruled by people who are significantly older than the general population.

There's hope for me at a young 75

Oh yes. Best entertainment you'll ever see on TV these days, especially the wailing and gnashing of teeth by the snowflakes and the BBC.

I think Trump is hilarious, and a master of winding up the lefties. I don't give a shit about his politics - and if I was an American, I'd gladly vote for him in just for the comedy value.

Best piss-taking wind-up merchant to ever grace the world stage.

Viva El Trumpo...!!! ;)

Oddly enough, during his presidency it was the only period Americans weren’t dying in conflicts around the world.
Like Democrat Roosevelt always said….’speak quietly and carry a big stick’ …Republican Trump was more…. ‘ shout loudly and carry a bigger stick’.
Seemed to work.

The problem the U.K. has is our politicians are too young and have no experience of life whatsover.

You’re right Jamie, they have no experience of real life whatsoever.
Starmer’s recent recruits are all ex paper lads from their age, but that way he gets compliant puppies who won’t rock the boat….the other Prty’s will follow his lead.
The average MP now seems to have a CV of…. school, Uni, Party research worker (skivvy) and loyal nodding dog status when elected.

We have the tyranny of the political minority.

So which conflicts have Americans been dying in under Biden's presidency? They still have a small military presence in Iraq (as they did under Trump),and it was Biden, not Trump, who pulled the American military out of Afghanistan - with their tails between their legs, but no more Yanks are dying there, if that's your criterion for success.

In a sane world neither of them would be running for another term as president.

Agreed, but anyone not dying is a good thing in my ever so humble opinion.

wish i had not read that as he shares the same birthday as me. its not as if he is a young 81 seeing his constant tripping up and his inability to string a legible sentance together.

its two different extreames we are seeing now. surely there is a middle ground away from a 24 year old MP and an escapee from a care home.

Just Stop Oil protesters are mostly old farts, they must be because they are never at work.

Party leaders and "helpers";
Sunak 43, Hunt 57, Cameron 57
Starmer 61
Davey 57

Lindsay Hoyle - Speaker is 66

The 2 co-founders of Just Stop Oil are 57 & 29

So if Labour get in at the next election and serve 5 years whilst still keeping Starmer, he will be 67 then and drawing his state pension.

Suggestion
1) You can't become an M.P. until the age 40 and hold the position no later than age 50.
2) Boundaries redrawn with no more than 200 seats.
3) No second jobs to be held.

I have no problem with youngsters who’ve experienced life, not cosseted students
I don’t care how old politicians are provided they don’t exhibit signs of incapacity to fulfil the term or role.
200 seats would be a disaster for local politics as each constituency discounting under 18’s would roughly still give you as electorate of over a quarter of a million per MP……
Second jobs I totally agree about.
