I'd still rather be in our position than either of theirs. You'd think we were the first team ever to be beaten by lower league opposition.

It is a joke but not a funny one though, and it is happening on the pitch.
It can only be sorted on the pitch. That is down to Askey and the players, their availability, his tactics, the players doing as they're told and all the other basics that go to making a football team, with emphasis on the word team. They've shown they can create and score goals but what they can't do is keep the back door shut and the coaching staff led by Askey have not been able to change that.

Every commentator highlights the poor tactics and constant formation changes, it’s all becoming rather obvious.

Frickley Athletic 0-1 1985 in the FA Cup at home for starters.

I did. And it sent shivers up my spine. What if our bunch of "pretending to be a full time professional football player, but really I'm only in it because it pays well and I like my car and saying to lasses that I'm a professional football player in nightclubs usually works out well" squad, and our "it's very disappointing again really. They're just not listening to me" manager - had gotten Darlo in the first round.

Doesn't bare thinking about.

Exactly this yes we have been beaten by non leaguers before, but if you add them to what we have lost against recently, then add a team in darlo have just beaten, just their 2nd win this season, its scary how bad things can get.

Serious question though? Who would you replace askey for? Who in their right mind would want this job at present? What happens if the next manager a month down the line cant get results? Do we sack him too or do we keep blaming managers for players they brought in?

its something that took me back pre grammar school days when we,d have said chester beat pools, darlo beat chester so darlo are better than us. it was bollocks then as it still is now.

Totally agree, it just doesn’t work out like that.

The FA Cup has always thrown up surprising results and we have been at both ends of the spectrum.
Who would have thought that Aldershot would turn up at Swindon and go 7-0 up.

If you can turn any old lump of wood into a suitable rod for bashing the club, and especially the chairman (rather than the manager or players) then everything's fair game.

The best way to solve a problem is try not to let the problem appear in the first place. Or try to nip it in the bud before it escalates.

Extra time and penalties would help, especially if Chester win the shoot out.

and if we beat them on saturday is there a prize for the first person posting who will give that as a reason for our victory.

It'll be the York manager.

Testify brother.

I recorded that game on my magic Freesat box, but deleted it about 3 nano-seconds after the final whistle.

So Chester beat us - we're shot!
York drew with Chester then beat them in a replay - so it follows, York are better than Chester who are better than is, so York will absolutely batter us....................

Is it safe to say Chester's bubble is getting too near to the pin cushion. Maybe they have a few injuries and/or suspensions.

I think they were taking the p*ss in their team selection by making 7 changes from their "normal" side and supposedly believing it was an easy win.

I bet Nantwich were laughing themselves silly in the dressing room afterwards.
