I think I have an alternative event to attend that night…..crabbing on Longscar Rock in the dark….with the tide up.

The players need to "meet each other " first, as they play like a bunch of strangers on the pitch.

They're doing it for the kids , at least the kids still love them, well done to Pools and the players doing it despite the way they're playing.

Must admit those that turn up deserve some credit. Does anyone know if someone is "chosen" to appear or does it voluntarily to keep in the public eye so to speak?

To be fair, I do early posts frequently because Ratboy being a the type of terrier he is (energetic and insistent) is prone to force the bedroom door open, come in in, wake me up so he can go into the garden to point Percy at the porcelain …..then won’t come in, I go out to round him up in the dark and BANG you’re wide awake.

the 5 who drew the short straws. bet they are dreading it and will only be doing it because its part of their contract. an event showing how two faced both players and fans actually are.

Do fans actually attend these events, there were no photos from the last one ?

its really hard to imagine not many turning up even if its just kids dragging their parents along. players are like gods to them no matter how poor we think they are. just need to look back to when we started going as kids, seeing players arriving to the ground and building up courage to speak or ask for their autograph. not just first teamers either even youth players can come into that unless things have changed.

I believe there were but they wanted their faces blanked out, no publicity and wished to be referred to by their National Insurance numbers.

The team sheet says 11- but we've had at least 8 missing for weeks.

Maybe the meet and greet will be held on the coach in the car park

Like Accrington says, to kids these players are hero’s. Anyway most of the posters on here will probably be at the next match so what’s the difference.

Fear not Leggie- Had two days of teacher training (also known as death by PowerPoint) no one notices if your asleep - well not until you start snoring!

Kids are back in today (Wednesday) and got a full day at the chalk face, so will be bolloxed tonight having had half term last week. I fully expect the kids to be barmy, given we've just had Halloween!

Photo on X(Twitter) of the players, you would have thought they would have got some kids that’s if any turned up to pose for a photo.

Might I suggest this meet the players scheme is extended to introduce them to a ‘football’, a ‘football pitch’..’tactics’ and most important of all ‘orders’ which must be obeyed at all times.!

Ah the joy of training, about six years ago we were called in (all from different depts) and when the topic revealed was ‘How to prepare a dead body for removal’…everyone, especially the women were shocked.
The bloke taking the lecture had to leave the room to take a call …..and out of sixteen attending, only me and my oppo were there when he returned, they all jumped ship.
