Last night had to play their home match down the road at Hinckley as bailiffs had "padlocked" their ground because no rent had been paid for several months.

Club statement yesterday afternoon told supporters the reason why was "unusual circumstances"

It was not many years ago they were playing in the Conference (now N.L.) so a timely reminder that without proper management the mighty can easily fall from grace. I understand (living close) that ex League & N.L. players are on the books on wages of £800-£1000 per week which has contributed to probably failing to pay the Landlord.

‘Unusual circumstances’ sctatchinghead you either pay the bill or you don’t.
Unless of course they went to pay it and were blocked by a tap dancing elephant in a tutu and hobnail boots pirouetting in front of you demanding buns…that’s unusual circumstances!!!

the problems at nuneaton really started when they had to move from there old manor road ground to a rugby ground with worse facilities the opposite side of the town, the majority of the town lived the manor road side of the town so therefore lost many fans once the team started losing games more regularly. they had a good fanbase even though coventry and leicester are not far away. bit like pools in a smaller way.
