Slipped up on this one, now see York has sold out.

If by any stroke of luck anybody has or knows or anybody with a couple of spares, I would be very grateful!

Should have been playing them at home in the FA Cup.
Wonder if the town end would have been closed then.

Commiserations…but it might be a blessing in disguise.

1400 sold out a month in advance.
A special breed of fans.
Lots of alcohol consumed on that day and the usual bad tactics n lack of desire from these heads could finally test the fans patience.

about time though that special breed of fans get something they really deserve. the vast majority have stuck with the club but the club and players have certainly not stuck with them.

if we lose em all before the game there could be a queue infront of your house trying to move em on. there is a breaking point even for poolies.

Was always going to be more demand than supply but big effort nevertheless.
It's a good day out, always was and probably always will be.
Well done the fans.

bootham crescent was but i have doubts about the new place and where its actually been stuck even though there is a better chance of being dry for the game. used to do the odd bolton wanderers games but one at their new ground was one too many for me. york could be even worse.

I haven't seen York's new ground so can't comment from experience but York is a great place to visit.
If the new ground is as soulless as most of the other new grounds I have visited, then the day out could be tarnished. I used to go to Donny's Belle Vue quite often but hardly go near their new one. Poolies usually have a good day out wherever they go, so 1400 will make the most of it I'm sure.

basically though donnys two grounds are across the lake from each other but the position of york is far different. the problem is if you go into the city you then have to do a second journey out to the sticks for the game. once you could park relitively close to bootham or catch the train to do your own things pre match and walk up to the place. now like bolton thats been taken away from you whether or not the ground is souless or not. its it position for me thats the biggest problem and the reason i never attempted to get a ticket for it. feel its going to be more hassle than what its worth in the end.

Aye these new grounds are getting further and further away from the town centres but they all seem to be doing it. Donny's old ground has gone now and the walk around the lake is not a short hop. They do run buses to and from the new ground though, so you can have a pint in the town centre and catch a bus. It's a fair walk from the railway/bus interchange to the ground.

York is a great place to visit, but their ground is out east on the ring road on a retail park…. Bootham Crescent it is not, mores the pity.

if you only went to york for the match many would never know how good or bad york is if there ground was always where it is now. can say the same for all these out of town grounds that bring less money into the town itself than there old grounds used to do. there must be many like me who will do anything but buy food and drink inside grounds and eat in the town for home and away matches. Her in the kitchen buys stuff in the town and morrisons when we come up so thats would be less revenue for the town if we played somewhere off the A19 for instance.

Used to use the Park n Ride dead handy, towards the end parking round Bootham Crescent was a gamble.
My eldest had his first drink at a pub near the ground before the match…admittedly he was five and it was a coke, but it’s a start.

actually it was the only place i used to go by train to. nice walk to the ground with plenty places to stop if you wish and close enough for a gentle trot back to the station to beat the rush. all gone now with the farce of finding more transport to get to the outskirts of the city and back with there lot on board a bus. its somewhere many fans used to go by train and if they get back into the league you can see incidents outside the ground and city between fans no matter how safe the ground is inside it.

Talking about the lake near Donny's new ground, Mr Accy. I know a woman who lives near the lake and walks round it most days, She tells me it takes around an hour.

her in the kitchen has a soft spot for them so we used to go a few times every season if it was cool. got there early to find a few free street parking spots still left and took the dogs round the lake, sometimes they were in the lake. it did take about that long from the keepmoat. stopped going due to having to pay a fiver to park as luckily she lost her interest and i never really had any.

I always find it to be a cold hole, maybe it's the amount of concrete in the place. I have yet to visit Rotherham's new ground.

used to go to millmoor for the odd non pools game every season. since they left i have only been once to that sports stadium the played in and never to the new ground. a combination of possibly having to buy a ticket in advance plus the possible difficulty in parking now just puts me off all football apart from pools and going to see my lad at stockport. if he lived nearer i,d swerve that with pleasure.

Stockport have had a shite time for many a year, Don,t begrudge them one bit (not suggesting you do)

They are carrying a lot of fairweather supporters at the moment, Wonder where they were when needed.

like at every other club in the league. they only want to watch winning clubs nowadays and not over interested how wins are made either by team tactics or dodgy owners. we would also fill the vic by playing dull football with a rich owner with a murky past as long as we were top or very close to be top of the league.
