They have a way to go yet. I was there for that Sav pen against Palace in Jan and was I there at Blackpool when Sav/Pools scored again in the March. That was a long time in between.

Think they've got a way to go yet- sure it's at least 1200 mins - so would need to be another 5 or 6 games. Also depends if they're counting the extra time that's been lumped on this season or whether they're counting each game as 90 mins?

They do have the record for not scoring from the start of a season already in the bag

Well Tim Flowers the Manager has departed. Didn't he manage Solihull for a few months last year?

Tim Flowers has never been manager of Cheltenham, he was manager of Solihull for a couple of years and he was manager of Gloucester City in the National League North at the start of the season, he recently left them though

Darrell Trigger Clarke has just taken the Cheltenham job- reckon our record will be safe- surely He'll manage to get them to score 1 goal in the next 5 games

How is this calculated? Is added time included? Pools record is 1227 minutes without scoring. If the record is purely based on 90 minutes per full game, that equates to 13.6 games. 11 games would be only 990 minutes.

What's the answer? sctatchinghead

Having looked into this further, I reckon Pools record is ALL games played, not just league games. During the run, we played Stockport in the Trophy and Sheffield Utd in the FA Cup and didn't score in either so that takes it to 13 games.

31 09/01/1993 Leyton Orient Drew 0-0 Away Brisbane Road FL Division 2
32 12/01/1993 Stockport County Lost 0-1 Away Edgeley Park FL Trophy 2nd Round North
33 16/01/1993 Preston North End Drew 0-0 Home Victoria Park FL Division 2
34 23/01/1993 Sheffield United Lost 0-1 Away Bramall Lane FA Cup 4th Round
35 27/01/1993 Huddersfield Town Lost 0-3 Away Leeds Road FL Division 2
36 30/01/1993 Rotherham United Lost 0-2 Home Victoria Park FL Division 2
37 06/02/1993 Reading Lost 0-2 Away Elm Park FL Division 2
38 09/02/1993 Port Vale Lost 0-2 Away Vale Park FL Division 2
39 13/02/1993 AFC Bournemouth Lost 0-1 Home Victoria Park FL Division 2
40 16/02/1993 Mansfield Town Lost 0-2 Away Field Mill FL Division 2
41 20/02/1993 Chester City Lost 0-1 Away Deva Stadium FL Division 2
42 27/02/1993 Bolton Wanderers Lost 0-2 Home Victoria Park FL Division 2
43 02/03/1993 Wigan Athletic Drew 0-0 Home Victoria Park FL Division 2
44 06/03/1993 Blackpool Drew 1-1 Away Bloomfield Road FL Division 2

There won't be any 'added time' in the Pools calculation. Back in the day - till quite recently in fact - there was no such thing as scoring in 'the 93rd minute' or suchlike - all goals after normal time went down in the records as 90th minute strikes.

Thanks Mr H. In that case, the measure is all games from the minute Sav scored the penalty v Crystal Palace to the minute he scored at Blackpool.

Not totally sure just know pools and coventry must of gone a full 11 games without scoring. Next up derby for them.

The only point that I am making is that they are league games. Pools went 11 league games but also had 2 cup games during the same run.

Yeah i know that cheltenham have also gone two cup games without scoring but they played in the auto windscreen sherpa fan thing game against an under 21 team i think it was and they scored through an own goal.

Cheltenham have played 14 games and scored 1 this season in the under 21 come div1 and 2 cup and that was an own goal.
