David Unsworth Oldham Athletic fired today after a run of winless games. Won't be the last no doubt.

And they apparently splashed the cash in close season, according to the club statement. One win in nine games.

The days when an ad rang out "always ask for Mazda." They were advertising light bulbs.

best car battery i ever had was one of those. was on a car when i got it. lasted over 7 years on various cars till a terminal gave up the ghost but still had plenty of charge in it.

Everything you buy like that now is crap, built in redundancy to keep the profits flowing.

To paraphrase Dibnah…....Engineers and men in overalls built the country and accountants and men in suits ruined it.

I had to get a new battery for my car a few weeks ago, only 5 years old. My last battery was in 2005 for my TR6 £30, this one £179 and that was cheap!!!!

Just bought a battery today myself- spent just over £55 including postage, arrives tomorrow

Google search -Tayna batteries - they might have what you need cheaper than what you paid, then send the other one back.

Apologies just re read your message - initially thought you'd bought it in the last day couple of days

Remember the days at Christmas when you bought the kids things like robots etc which had about 6 big batteries that cost the earth and ran out by boxing day? Bit like printer cartridges I suppose - more expensive than the printer itself when you have changed cartridges.

I suspect this switch to electric cars will be the death nell for lots of small garages because the the Main Dealers along with the car manufacturers will corner the market…but never worry the only people able to afford a car will be the smug middle classes to whom money is not a problem and can’t understand why the plebs think net zero is a huge con.

the one i have been going to for years has given the place over to his lad. pools have more spare defenders as they are electric cars around my way but he is getting out now at the top before the eventual take over happens and the added expense of tooling up to fix the whispering deaths. doubt his lad will be interested in my 90,s cars like he was and thought they were a breath of fresh air with their minimum of technowledgy on them. by the way what is a parking sensor, a sat nav or a cat. funny how i can get by without all that bollocks.

Michael Beale at Rangers, 7 games in 3 defeats and 7 points behind Celtic, had a few injuries but his signings haven’t impressed. For the Ibrox faithful it’s all about keeping up with Celtic. Beale was Gerard’s assistant at Rangers and Villa but then went to QPR but for some reason decided to return to Ibrox.
