Scunny fans were giving it large pre season
Telling all that would listen they would piss the league, With all the dosh they were spending.

Got some good memories of the proper ground years ago.
Proper club or was.

Although there needs some reasons why both Southend & Scunny were allowed to start the season, the bigger question is;

ARE THE NATIONAL LEAGUE MANAGEMENT FIT FOR PURPOSE?

I would say definitely not, remember they are full time, well paid officials, who would struggle to run the whelk stall outside their local pub at the weekends!

The plot thickens Gainsborogh have just released a statement saying they are well aware of the Scunthorpe statement regarding playing home games at Gainsborogh ground but have not had any contact from Scunthorpe regarding this information. I reckon Scunny are just about done. sadx

I think the fuss over the covid handouts proved they weren't up to the job.

I have read the statement and recognise what the man is saying. Why some fans of football clubs think they have the right to behave like he is describing is beyond me. It is only some fans but one fan doing it is one fan too many.
There is probably no other man on this planet injecting as much of his personal finance into Sheff Wed than this fella.
There is a limit to what a man is prepared to put up with before he says he's had enough.
In his position I would also pull the plug.
What right has anyone got that makes him think he can instruct another man on how to spend his money.

If I had read that without knowing which football chairman wrote it, I could have easily accepted it as the work of Raj Singh.

Change Sheffield Wed to Hartlepool Utd and it is something he could have written.

It's still too easy for fans to be keyboard warriors and say what the hell they like under the cover of an alias. Just like they can watch as many games as they want for next to nowt using VPN and be judge, jury and executioner of the manager, coaches and players. Every club has got 'fans' like these nowadays.

Only masochists need apply for the role of chairman - it takes half a dozen bad results to go from hero to zero. Just look at Steve Gibson - he's propped Middlesbrough up for donkeys years and still gets dogs abuse from the Borer 'faithful' every time they drop out of contention for promotion. As if they've got a right to be in the Prem

I sometimes marvel at what things some posters put on message boards without a thought for legal implications, didn’t Mike Newell take action over comments?

I feel the FA/EFL/National league have something to answer for who they pass through as suitable owners.

What a GREAT bloke that man is- They wouldn't have a club or any of those glory years if it wasn't for his deep pockets. Don't understand how they can give him grief after all he's done for them over the last 35 years.

I remember going to a few games with my Dad at Ayresome Park Circa '84 and their average gates were about 8/9k. They've always been a fickle bunch the borer fans which is why they will always be behind the carTOON army and Sunlun in terms of stature, for me.
