Very surprised to see Eddie is the hospitality guest for saturdays game. I like him but thought Eddie disliked Raj sctatchinghead

Apparently he spends his time on the bench fondling the spare balls, to get the feel of them and only drops them occasionally now.

I wouldn’t have thought Raj Singh would organise the guests for the hospitality suites, he leave it to the Hospitality person, I doubt Raj Singh will be going round the boxes either, I suspect he would get a bit of flack.

Eddie used to refer to the team as "us" during commentaries as he is essentially a fan, whereas Micky Barron refers to us as "Hartlepool" never "us" or "we" I've noticed. Think Barron is a Mag or Mackem fan anyway.

Yes, I noticed that, it gives him that distance from the club.

Agreed - I thought that odd the other night when listening to the Solihull game that Barron repeatedly called us Hartlepool rather than us/we. Wouldn't have happened on Eddie's watch- only when it's gone, do you realise what you had!

The part that jars with me is him referring to Pools from a neutral stance as though he’d never been to the place before…even the use of ‘Hartlepool’ instead of ‘Pools’ makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Barron was a bitter and twisted man after his contract wasn’t renewed at Pools, I think he still holds a grudge but does the commentary for bit of extra cash.

can understand anyone holding a grudge for years but not doing a commenrary on that team though no matter what they get paid. i would not go within miles of the place if i felt like that.
