.is it just too hard to get a good one at this level and we have to work out how to protect them better.

Killip---Excellent shot stopper, poor on crosses and distribution

Dixon, better at distribution as bad or worse with crosses and shot stopping

Jameson....looks the worst of the 3.

The lad we had on loan from leicester was better than any of the other 3 (tho not perfect)---wonder if loans from bigger clubs is the way to go in this position?

possibly finding a good goalkeeper at all levels is the hardest thing clubs can do now. the reason there are so many foreign ones at the top. years ago we had the best keepers in the world and used to laugh at the scottish and european ones. bit of a coincidence or not that the rise of the goalkeeper coach has seen the lack of decent reliable keepers about.

I think keepers are born, not made by coaches.

its some natural ability you posess where i feel its knocked out of them because they do not do the things thats written in a coaching manual. once it was fine doing anything if it worked for you even if it did not for anyone else. coaching did sod all for me at cricket apart from making me worse for the same reason.

Another created position like defensive coach, how many top goalkeepers or defenders ever end up in these jobs. Cloughie, Shankly, Busby etc never employed them.

Spin a coin before match. Not much difference between them.

When you look at the role of goalkeeper, physically even it’s a different job completely from the normal players. I just think you can’t make a keeper, they have to want to be one.

When we played the fattest or the kid who didn’t want to run about went in goal.

Mathematically the sensible choice, as his body area will block out the biggest space between the two coats….oops, goalposts.

Utterly Regardless of the clean sheet i am still not convinced Jamo is any better than Killip.

yet Killip finds himself turning out for a L1 outfit ?

i see Mitchell is still a free agent after being at Donny last season - id have him back tbh.

really dissapointed with Dixon tbh - think out of all our signings of recent times hes one i thought would not be a flop.

Given he got himself a move to Bolton and was their No1 for sometime, usually a GK gets better with age not worse !

Aaron Lee Barratt was crap for us but went on to actually play in the Championship, Killip was (on the whole) crap for us and has gone on to play for.......
All irrelevant now, we've got 2 keepers who have shown themselves to be fairly average at best but it's early days and we've not had a settled defence which makes it more difficult too.
