The Mail has an article saying his loss of form could be down to burn out. Is there a case for leaving him on the bench at Grimsby and maybe bringing him on for the second half if needed? I seem to remember this worked out very well away at Mansfield earlier in the season when he came on in the second half and scored two goals.

Yes i feel he is an impact player and would surely upset a few tiring defenders for the last 30 minutes.

Could be a good shout, let Hamilton wear them down and then bring Umerah, McDonald and Finney on last 20-30 min.

'Burn out' is probably pish, but Umerah has laboured a bit since he came back from injury and doesn't look fully fit. Sure Askey will make the right call tomorrow.

It would help Josh no end if he finally got a referee who was able to see all the pushes, holds and other fouls he has to put up with in a game, Can understand it in away games but it's no better when Pools are at home! Wonder if 'Arry Kane runs a summer school on how to win free kicks if the centre half even breathes on you.

he still puts a shift in and we are scoring even if he isn,t. would we score as many with him sat on the bench or the stand. as Bosh85 says we could start with hamilton and then bring josh on. the opposite would never work as i find hamilton as a poor sub being better when he starts games.

Had a fantastic first 6 months. Went off the boil, but who can blame him playing with this lot. Just look how bad ferguson has become or how poor sterry is now compared to what he was. We have signed 3rd or 4th choice players from clubs, the joke has to stop eventually. One day we may be able to sign league 2 quality players again.

Umerah tries his best, and will likely win POTY but he’s a clear downgrade on Bogle, nothing against him but emblematic of the pre season transfer dealings

its not him thats sent us down its the comedy club defending that did it. so many goals conceeded have been a carbon copy of others but no body learned in the team or had that ability to learn.

Yep the goals for column is not a problem, its the goals against which is the worst in the league. Half the time the forwards are having to play catch up because the defence has cocked up. We all accept that sometimes the opposition are a cut above and score some creative goals but Pools just give goals away that the opposition dont really have to work for. As someone said yesterday "comedy defending".

Spot on Ozzie, always get your defence right above all else then you have a chance of winning games.
