According to the Mail we have had a bid accepted by Solihull but the problem is, so have Grimsby. It is now down to the choice of the player. Will he choose soon to be relegated Hartlepool or mid table Grimsby? Deciding factor will be how much Pools are willing/able to pay him. I bet a pound to a bucket of shit he joins Grimsby.

I have it on good authority that the offers being made to players has been good - in some cases we’ve gone way way over budget to try secure players.

Mentioned it on another thread, the concerning thing is we are being turned down even when the money on offer is right. I always harp on about it but this all started from the basket case pre season we had. Stood off a mile. Everybody had us down as struggling and there were fans who simply had the blinkers on who couldn’t see this coming. It’s not normal for a football club at this level to be representing itself the way it did at the end of last season into this summer. Embarrassing stuff.

It all started last season. Graeme Lee was way out of his depth and didn't have the people around him to help.

If we are offering good money, cannot understand why we cannot attract decent players.

Gillingham and Colchester were as much in the clart as us when TW opened and hasn't stopped players agreeing terms with them. Players must be blacklisting us for some reason.

Why on earth would he choose pools if he has other offers on the table can we offer a better future than other clubs considering we seem in such a mess at the moment which doesnt seem to be getting better anytime soon.

Just look at yesterday utter rubbish from top to bottom with a blind manager who seems to be clueless.

Give him a good wage and some form of release clause for the fee we paid for them if we get relegated.
Sounds like playing football manager but surely that’s the kind of security good players will want, if we stay up great if we go down it doesn’t harm their career as they can stay in the division.
We don’t win if we go down but we get good players to help us in the mean time

Like I said somewhere else, he went missing, as though as we were safe from relegation so he let them have ‘toy day’ for the rest of the season.
That was the perfect time to start serious planning for this season and I assumed with the time available it was going along nicely…then it collapsed and it turned into a last minute rush for the lifeboats…….I fell for it, I couldn’t comprehend it was going to be a colossal balls up, surely not, but it was…an even bigger balls up than even the doubters anticipated…. sadx

I mentioned this in another thread, Lee made a huge mistake by appointing Nelson as his assistant, he should have went for a more experienced right hand man or made Sweeney his right hand man. As you said Snowy it was taken for granted after the successful cup runs we would carry on in a similar manner in the League obviously it wasn’t and nothing was done about it apart from sacking Lee. We then waited 6 weeks before the new season before appointing a new manager then who turn was rushing to bring new players, again another disaster. TBH hindsight is great but after watching the Hibs friendly for me the writing was on the wall for the new season, it was going to be a struggle.

And so the bids bloody well should be good ook at the money we have had in over last 18 month. Our bids are that good that the team looked no better yesterday than it day before January.

You have to outbid teams in our position not put fake bids in knowing you have no chance of getting them.

I'm guessing that the next thing we hear is that he's decided to stay put

Yep, that would be so bloody typical, wouldn't it? Either that or he signs and breaks his leg against Donny next Saturday.

If all fails we could sign his sister Debbie.

That will be the 113th player to turn us down!. Is it the money, location, league position or something else this time?.
