I'm over the moon for the lad, I've always liked him. The opposistion hate him. I really hope he gets a proper run in the team and is given a chance.

Yes. He has won his place up the pecking order for a couple of games at least don't you think...?

Well im not denying the fact hes done great tonight, but to start him upfront or even as 3rd choice striker and once again ignore the services of Porter is insane. If we're not to careful Joel is well wanna get out of here.

Joel will get his chance, in all seriousness - how can you not start Foley?

But Joels already had hes chance - and we know what he can do.

If we piss around with the strike partnerships again......

I'd of started the season with Porter in the team, i think he is very unlucky to be benchwarming but if someone comes in and scores goals then they have to be high in the pecking order. It's a tough old world.

What sort of message does it send Foley and other players if Joel is preferred to Foley on Saturday??

Didnt Joel Porter come off the bench last season and score two to win us the game?

Remind me where he started the following game.

good point, like

I had doubts about whether the lad would ever do the business in the first team when it really counts, and he went a long way towards proving me wrong last night. He has to keep it up, but well done young Foley for producing the goods when the team needed it most (after replacing one of the senior strikers who didn't notch)!!!!

He's done well considering he's hardly started any games, it wouldn't have been quite easy for the lad to slowly drift away but he gets better all the time for me.

I used to think he wasn't good enough but not I feel like he is on the road to be a good player with some parts of his game needing tweaking.

Its not about giving Foley a chance.

Foley is a little beauty, but I would still have him on the bench.

I think Joel should be starting, but DW has chosen Moore and Barker. It wouldnt do Moores confidence much good to drop him after 2 games.

Trying to see all sides here, it might be better just to leave the front two as it for a little while yet.

No one can argue that a bench with Porter, Foley and Ben Clark has some awesome potential.

On the flip side......it would be great to see a front three of Brown, Porter and Foley.

With a midfield three of Liddle Boland and Sweeney.

Oh dear................that would mean a bench with Barker, Moore Monkhouse and Humphreys on it.

Who would be a manager eh?

By having such a great squad, at times it will back fire on Wilson as when we lose people will also say 'why wasn't he playing X'.

I've seen Moore three times now and he hasn't impressed me once, he is always chasing the ball butvery rarely touches it. He showed a couple of nice touches last night but you need more than that, especially away from home.

Moore has hardly played the last two years, if we keep playing him and he keeps under performing he will be the new player that people will start slating. If we put him on the bench/reserves and he gets a few goals, his confidence will be up and he will do a good job for us once he is back on his game.

It's an area Wilson needs to address and I have every faith he will soon.

I also think that Porter should of started in front of Moore.

It is early days and for whatever reason Foley was given the nod ahead of Porter last night and he did the business. i am not saying that he is better than Porter but when players are given their oppertunity and they produce the goods then it deserves rewarding.

If Foley doesn't start this weekend - then what the hell has he got to do to get a chance.

Moore got subbed first, so there's a chance Barker plus either Porter or Foley will start on Saturday. Doncaster are tough opponents - no doubt about that - and I think attacking options will be the key. I'd rather have a bench with players like Sweeney and Foley who will give us more options going forward if needs be, as they are definitely one of the better teams we will play, and we could easily find ourselves a couple of goals down against them if we aren't at the top of our game.

It was three years ago against Doncaster

Was that the game when Dimi had a blinder and also was the scene of one of Franks best football pics in my opinion. I think it was of Dimi in the Rink End goal diving full stretch and just getting his finger tips to the ball, I am fairly sure it was against Donny sctatchinghead
