See Luke James did go to York City! He's there with new signings Michael Duckworth and Gus Mafuta. Fraser Kerr and Paddy McLaughlin are still there too.

Started their season back in the NL with a 2-0 win; Duckworth one of the scorers.

Bizarrely, I clocked Gus's car travelling North on the A19 as I was returning from Pools round about 6.15.

It looks like the football equivalent of a retail park…… no soul.

York have made the same mistake as others before them, going from an atmospheric home ground to a soulless edifice.
I'm sure Pools have looked at this scenario but thank goodness they have resisted the temptation.

Trouble is, the ground was in an affluent residential area, now how many ‘Executive’ stylish period rabbit hutches can be squeezed onto that site at premium prices?

Pools have a good ground in the town centre but when i hear talks of "redevelopment" i just hope it's nothing like what York have.

Do you think the current owner is concerned about the atmosphere at the Vic ?
If a scheme was put forward he could benefit from he would snap the developers hands off.

I have no idea what he has concerns about, as I don't know the man personally. However I know what I like and dislike and soulless concrete stadia are something I don't like. Unlike some people I don't spend my life speculating on the thoughts of chairman Raj.
I leave that to the people who get a kick out of it.
The Vic was there before he was born and I hope Pools are still playing there after he passes on.
Your statement specifically and categorically states that he WOULD "snap the developers hands off".
So can you tell us how you know that. Has he told you that is what he would do??? Or are you just making it up. Second guessing like.
If you do have these sort of conversations with him, please pass my thoughts on the matter to him.
Can you also ask him if there is any news on a striker or two.

I have never met Raj Singh albeit I live next door to his new Care Home at Bishop Cuthbert.
If I ever had the opportunity to speak to him I would ask him why he bought Pools a loss making club, no assets as such, in debt because of the previous owner Coxhall.
IOR used Pools as a tax write off, Pools were registered in the Virgin Islands, IOR were ‘writing off’ a million pounds a year, watch the Ken Hodcroft interview on Switch of Play, I doubt very much Raj Singh will be doing similar.

When did Raj buy the Vic? Because as far as I’m aware the Council owns it and selling it could be a problem if you don’t actually own it.

When Gibson was Chairman he managed to get hold of the car sales room which is now the clubs offices etc. I cannot remember if it was another rent situation with garage owners or something to do with the council. Or perhaps Gibsons ghost owns it and rents it to pools on a long term lease. After all he was a property developer. Would love to know the answer if anyone can remember?

.

So you’ll have to ask why all the other previous owners bought the club too.

So you've never met Raj Singh but you know precisely what he WOULD do if developers came a knocking. Therefore you are either guessing, speculating or making it all up, which one is it???
Thanks for the info on IOR/ Hodcroft but I already knew all that. It is history now and nothing to due with Raj and his "concerns" which you spoke about.

think it could be the case of bad decisions in the past by chairmen and owners not just at pools but throughout football where you get his speculation. can understand his concerns and anybody elses in the modern era.
