Surely it’s common sense to cancel friendly at St Mirren. T travel all the way to Scotland with what will be half a team awaiting new players coming in. Better off getting full days training in at home. Still plenty of time for games with matches with Blackburn, Lincoln,Sunderland, plus local non league teams lined up. Did one of the regular moaners say we are unprepared?

Sorry mate you used the ‘s’ word, ‘sense’…..confuses some on here.

No that's rubbish. Swop sides with who? Do you mean with other posters on here? No im not like that. More than satisfied when we showed a tiny bit of ambition when we were in the conference. That's all stopped now. If you and pooie1 are happy great but you won't shut down fans who feel we can do a lot better.

I very much doubt your ‘ambition’ will ever be ‘satisfied’, you’re just angry with everything.
If these maligned jocks get us to the playoffs or God forbid promotion, I await your transformation with relish.

It will, in fact the way things are heading I'd gladly take mid table. Thats not unreasonable to expect for a town of 90000 people and average gates of over 5200 last season. We cant even use cheap season tickets as the excuse for not having some quality now.

No problem signing maligned jocks I'm sure they have some fight in them at the very least, but come on we need to start signing the odd player who has done it in these leagues.

If we make the play offs I will gladly get you next year's season ticket. I don't mind putting money where my mouth is.

I don’t want you to buy me a season ticket, that’s not necessary, just give them a chance before opening fire. I did with Lee.

But they share your views Mr Imp, a natural assumption on my part.
Look, you’ve probably seen ‘Long Lost Family’ on the telly where some sucker who’s made it in life has this urge to seek out his siblings and re-unite them. Then the siblings from hell turn up like extra’s from a remake of ‘Love on the Dole’ and chuffed their long lost brother is besides being a multi millionaire, a bit gormless and a soft touch. Ticks all the boxes?
Get rid of them Imp or you’ll be drinking cheap cider around burning tyres, waving your arms at the traffic and bankrupt……. However, if they’re not your family…… get shot of them anyway.

The friendly being cancelled looks a sensible move. It allows PH to focus on getting his ideas into the players and also get some new ones through the door.
However it does look very amateur cancelling a game with a few days notice and I don’t think anyone can contest that

It can be both. If a team was coming to play pools in pre season and 2/3 days before cancelled for ‘unforeseen circumstances’ what would we be calling them? Hence it looks very amateur.
But in the way that this should hopefully allow us to focus on rectifying our player problems it is a sensible move.

The Hartlepool statement literally says PH wanted to focus on building a squad and integrating new players. That’s not unforeseen circumstances that’s we have no players.
Professionals would have enough players to fulfill a fixture they have committed to

As regards what me nan used to say…. She did buy a bedroom suite and the day after delivery the house next to St Joseph’s School was flattened by a bomb along with the school…so she was wrong on that occasion. bbolt

Lets put it all into context game off for what ever reason not ideal but better than turning up with a very weakened side and getting mullared and destroying any team spirit. Please remember we have lost two guys from the bunker family which puts all this into perspective. If PH is as good as we all hope keep the faith, UP THE POOLS.

It will, in fact the way things are heading I'd gladly take mid table.
think every single season of watching pools mid table is soething i,ll take at the seasons start. anything above that is a bonus with the odd cup runs. for many seasons pools have been in escapes, relegations or going cap in hand to the league to be voted back in. just do not know where this unexpected optimism of promotion or even making the play offs has come from and it being a life or death situation.

I was thinking this when the long list of friendlies was announced.
I think it is a sensible move and the reasons given are extremely relevant. The focus has to be on recruitment first and foremost. We'll have a better idea on recruitment progression by the end of this week and hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Once again you make things up to suit your agenda. Has anybody even mentioned Hartley being Scottish as a problem? Some of the best managers have been Scottish. Grow up mate. Your either on one big wind up with fans on here or your just being a Pratt. Only snowy seems to be able to put up with you. When you keep falling out with virtually everyone on this board maybe it's time to reassess the way you go on.

I’ve put up with a lot of people on here down the years, nowt new there ….. but poolie, despite his style, has points with which I agree…. I don’t let the delivery deflect from the truth of the message.
