Gone for a fee at least. Leaving with the club's thanks, which is more than Timi Odusina got after 2 years at Pools. Funny old game.

Bogle comes into a team playing well, looks class, scores goals.

Full team starts playing shit, gets no service. Looks poor.

Goes to a team who were in play off contention. Interesting one.

Expecting VERY big things from Pools transfer dealings.

Got money for him & Timi now, should be getting money for Byrne too if he goes. With those wages off the books and the cup run money from last year I'd expect some signings for actual fees and not a bunch of free transfers...

Next week needs to be busy. The first 11 might be meeting for the first time on the coach to Walsall.
4 weeks tomorrow.

just because players come on a free it doesn,t mean they are crap and no one wants em but pools. they reached the end of a contract with a club and want away for many reasons. less of a gamble than paying good money out for players who have hardly kicked a ball for a season or another who has had 10 years away from league football who no one else seemed interested in by his scoring goals two levels below where we are.

I honestly believe he just wasn’t up for it after meeting the new management team.
It probably looked like hard work and to be blunt, he was more waddling tug boat than speed boat. Just my opinion like.

same for me as i was saddened to see a second rater at the club who once was not. more than one goal he scored seemed more by luck than management though but the positive was that he was in the position to do that. pity the headless chicken one never managed to do even that.

I honestly expected that this year all the dealings would have been mainly done by now and a month of bonding/training would have set us up well for a tough August.
I imagine the late appointment of the manager has not helped.
My concern is that the players are going because they dont like what they see in PH or maybe the other way round?
Only time will tell but i think that this year its a very tough league.

I imagine that supporters of all 24 Clubs at the start of the season believe that they are going to have a good year but come end of September, beginning of October the following applies;

Yes we can win the league or do very well

Sh-t we are struggling and might go down!

That's football for you aint it>

Some players are going because they have been offered better deals others to be closer to home.
I don’t think PH would go out of his way to persuade them to stay as he had no knowledge of their ability.

I suspect what some don’t fancy is putting a shift in….. and alternatively he doesn’t like some players attitude or cold enthusiasm…….?

somes idea of putting a shift in is different from others. doubt you,d get all 92 league managers to agree on the usefullness of a squad of players put infront of them. its not to say if they are right or wrong in the same way we rate some of our lads more than others and cannot agree with each other. hartley will be no different to us apart from knowing more about the game and better informed. think everyone prefers one type of player to another, system that should be used etc.

Watch Undr the Cosh (yes Undr) on YouTube, Tommy Miller interview, when he was at Swindon De Canio was the manager. They did 7 weeks of consecutive training no days of, Miller said he was surprised they weren’t knackered and the fittest he had ever been, I think they were top of the league as well.

I’d like to see a more combative team, a fit team willing to keep going. We’ve tried the ‘Radio 2’ style of nice sedate play and it hasn’t gotten us anywhere.
It would make a satisfying change if we could do the ‘bullying’ for a change.

yes, with the ball more in our opponents last 30 yards than in ours or around the half way line. teams who dread coming to the vic and not looking forward to it as we physically give em an easy ride.

accy.."somes idea of putting a shift in is different from others."

...since the beginning of time there have always been players who believe their talent excuses them from the raw hard graft that they think others with lesser natural ability are required to endure....looking at bogle past and present.. and his antics on the pitch last season...i reckon i know which side of the fence he falls on...he certainly hasn't been putting in much graft just looking at that extra poundage hes carrying around with him...suspect he had a "good connection" with bonehead like some other "stars" that have exited and knew what he could get away with..decided with the new manager that this wouldn't continue..so he gets his agent to check on a manager who he has worked with before to see if there is any interest..and there was so hes off like a shot to kiss another badge...don't expect he will see out his contract at newport and he will be on his travels again looking for last pay day cheques before retiring to pursue his musical interests...think this has worked out quite well for us tbh..and just listen to the shite hes dishing out to those welsh punters..

"So what can Pools expect from Hartley?
Dundee fan James Hosie, 27, speaking to sports journalist Hugh Hutton, said: “He is a very thorough manager. Apparently, he used to be at Dens Park until very late in the day because he was very meticulous.
He would rewatch games and opposition games over and over again.
He can be ruthless when he needs to be when it comes to releasing players and getting quality in.
He is very big on fitness and he had the team do warm ups literally right before kick-off and before the second half and even after the game""

Yes they can. It’s in their DNA.

Ah but did you know that he's already been told by Raj that working late will require the office lights to be on and that is not allowed. Any excess of electricity abuse has to be sanctioned in triplicate and a copy sent to My Lords Of The Admiralty.

..interesting that in the newport vid hes obviously very keen to work with his previous manager....wonder why?..he says he "got the best out of me in terms of training"..mmmmm...seems he just wants to do his thing score his goals and be left to it like..guess he doesn't like that pointless running around pitches that was on offer at pools..

That was pitiful. The 14 year old was raving about getting signings in early, the fans apparently impressed, but what’s the point of getting them in early if they’re what you can grab off the shelf. Someone must have tipped him the wink though and he ended up like someone who’d just put his finger through the toilet paper.
