The signings we need

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

The signings we need

No, I’m not referring to what positions we need to fill, I’m referring to something way more important, their character. Out with my black fell terrier (educated Patterdale) and he got a sniff and was off. No stopping him and as he tried but failed, I had to marvel at the sheer dogged determination to carry on the chase even though it was obvious his digging was too late and thought to myself would it be possible to transplant that sheer drive and will to win and the never give up attitude into Pool’s players, as you you need to be a winner and have a winner’s mentality even when you’ve lost, because for us it’s been lacking for years.
Oh it’s nice to have tidy boys with tidy ability and tidy skills but an input of controlled determination is vital to win anything….. no team of tidy boys won anything unless you value being runners up…..even concrete needs a steel backbone and we desperately need steel, complete with drivers and bosses communicating and ‘encouraging’ the more faint hearted.
I like a dressing room of raised voices not sympathetic commiserations.
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

Even if we do not get a team of winners every week i,ll take a defeat if the players give everything for 90 odd minutes, show its hurt but were beaten by a better team in the end. Always have said that its not the defeat that bothers me its how the defeat has happened.

Ahhh i like the Poetic symphony that rang as i read this. Almost heard a little orchestrated noncence in the background by (insert your favourite here). But yes thid is it…. We simply need an 11 who will die for one another on the pitch. 15 would be fantastic. A sort of ensemble of warriors knowing their position come battle and none the wiser whos going to lead as all great warriors each are up for said task.

If the guy from bonny scotland roles in. Then great. I hope his merry men regardless of talent follow him and give him the same damn regard and fight they did for their previous employer. I believe we need at least 9 players to get us anywhere near above the heights we achieved fhe season gone. Amen

More Braveheart….less BraveFart!
We need a leader EVERYONE can follow, not a chummy boss who likes to empathise with the team and regards the fans as inconvenient mugs who should emulate nodding dogs and know their place
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

11 Dogs would probably beat this current Pools team.

Pools are being linked with yet another released GK - Rochdales outgoing man - Seems they have signed the target we wanted in January from Bradford and we can have their outgoing one. Appreciate hes probably no better than what we already have. Hopefully stays as a rumour this one. Says Stockport are interested too but i am sure they have just resigned up their 2 keepers from last season.

in all honestly i thought we would have had a manager by now - and more news from the club in terms of whats happening
