I wonder how Hartlepool voted after the way Bates treated Chris Turner.

I reckon they'll avoid relegation - but it's sure to cast a cloud over the team. Only fair that the judgement stands though

I'm very very surprised at that, was expecting it to be at the very least reduced and probably taken away altogether.

A quote from the official club site on the leagues decision not to allow their appeal.

"Football Family" seems to be driven by self interest.

Well Hell! They should know all about that then.
I am surprised at their surprise.

We will always remember how your chairman let us down in our hour of need - just about the only northern club to vote against us! You obviously need a 15 point start.

Still we have a cause now so all will be well. Motivation guaranteed. mot

But with only 15 or 16 voting in your favour surely there are many more northern clubs that also voted against you. After a quick look at the list of your supporters other northern clubs include

Barnsley
Huddersfield
Doncaster
Hull
Bury
Chester
Mansfield
Preston

I guess that there will be a fair few more as well

Mostly the Midlands - you must love us an awful lot to keep that list handy

The trouble is Whitelight too many remember you letting the rest of us down with the breakaway from the football league.
Now that really was was a big let down. Perpetrated by certain priveleged clubs (like yours), run by certain owners (like yours).
What the hell did you expect? And how dare you expect anything else?

No point us arguing butcher. LUFC has never had support from the hierarchy or from other clubs. Today was no different and was to be expected. We broke no rules but picked up a 25 point penalty which says everything we need to know about self preservation/old scores/lack of real leadership etc.

Personally I would'nt even have appealed - I'm too too proud for that!

Our job now is to rub everyones nose in it - LUFC fans seem to be gathering renewed commitment from league's continued shoddy treatment of us.

This season could be one of the very best!

By the way - as a fan I never had any say in the formation of the prem and yet you blame me (us for that as well). Just can't win can we.

Well to be fair, you chairmen went against our Director of Sport and threatened to sack him if he took over Sheff Wed as "ex-goalkeepers don't make good managers", which also annoyed our chairman who is buddies with him who later re-employed him.

In fact it could well be that Chris Turner made the decision instead of our chairman while he is busy pumping oil out of Iraq.

So we are even now.

Whitelight I do not blame you personally for anything, and if that is the impression I gave then I apologise but as almost every fan refers to themselves as WE when talking about their team it was in this context that I used the term YOU.

By the way I have no hatred or real ill will towards you (in that context again) but I can understand why the vote went the way it did.
And as a personal point I have no hatered or ill will towards you either, how could I, I do not know you?

Anyway anyone who appears to like the great Johnny Cash as you appear to do cannot be all bad. And thats all the complements you are getting off me tonight. See you over the festive season perhaps?

The question is - did Leeds support us when we were facing our darkest hour/year/decade and facing re-election. If they did consistently vote for us then we have breached their trust. If they didn't then stuff em. Anyone know?

I've stepped away from the Leeds debate now, but I did raise an eyebrow when I read this in yesterday's Guardian Fiver email newsletter

"To all the Football League chairpersons that voted to uphold the unfair penalty against us. You want our 3,000 travelling fans, you want our money, on food, drink and programmes ... well the campaign has started amongst us. Leeds fans won't spend a penny in your stadiums and your inevitable but unjustified extra police costs will cripple you! The next time one of you goes into administration and HMRC challenges the football rules, don't bother appealing to us and when, as a little club, you go bankrupt we will come along and dance on your grave and laugh at your reformed pathetic AFC effort" - Matt Anderson.

No but they will spend 20 grand getting in plus them that sneak in the home bits, so they'll make us far more than say Cheltenham who bring 150 and spent 30 quid each on a ticket, pie, tea n' programme.

He might be a passionate Leeds fan but he's a shit rabble rouser.
