Jim Leighton was pap - even i can remember him being rubbish and I was only about 9 when he played. He was in goal when Scotland were stuffed by Costa Rica, and Man Utd tried to throw the FA cup final......

Me and a mate started taking an interest in East Stirlings results a few years ago as we noticed they where by far the worst team in Western Europe. One week they where winning 2-1 with four minutes left and ended up losing 4-2 with 9 men on the park rolfl

Anyway we decided we had to make the journey to Firs Park, Falkirik for a game. A couple of years ago after Pools had dicked the Wendies 3-0 on a Friday night we went along for the bottom of the table tussle with Albion Rovers. Honestly Shire had a lad in midfield who must have weighed 20 clem, this lad played a fairly harmless backpass to the 'Shires keeper who proceded to lump the ball straight into the aforementioned 20 clemers back only for it to roll into the empty net and give Rovers a 2-0 lead. Their wasn't an Albion Rovers player within 20 yards.

Anyway a women in front us in the stand who was quite vocal throughout said something that would put me off paying anymore than 9p for Scottish goalkeeper never mind £9,000,000;

"Fook me he does that every week"

I thought jesus thats the single worst thing i've ever seen on a football field and HE does it every week rolfl

Aye Elvis, East Stirling play in Falkirk not Stirling which until I went I thought. The part of Falkirk its in makes Port Clarence look nice :roll:

They might do better this season as they've had a bit of cash put in £40,000 which might not sound much but it could go a long way considering a couple of years ago they where every single one of the squad £10 a match!! Mind they lost 3-1 on Saturday banghead

They don't share with Falkirk thats on the outskirts of the town, East Stirlings ground is called Firs Park. I'd say its about on par with Hordens ground, a new-ish main stand little terrace behind one goal a wall behind the other and a covered paddock along the other side.

Falkirks ground seemed to be in the middle of being rebuilt it had two big modern stands and nothing else- a two sider!!

I remember playing golf at Appleby a while back and they had electrified wire about shin high around all of the greens which was supposed to keep the sheep off them.
