The coverage of lasts nights Liverpool game was a big improvement on the tripe dished out by Sky with the likes of Souness, Keane,Carragher etc. Informative with a sprinkle of humour.
Got lots of matches on this month too.

I think they have an entire midweek fixture list to cover. Will be interesting to see/ hear who will be recruited to do the analysis on all of those. Watching TV football is getting (even more) expensive. My children have got Amazon Prime so I use one of their accounts but it is a good time to take out the 30 day trial - make SURE you CANCEL it in the new year. I do the Virginmedia (BT/ Sky matches).

Wasnt it last December they broke into the market? I take it the same thing happening this year, with Amazon getting a big slice of the December/Xmas market

If you don't mind me asking how much more do the pay for BT & Sky sports to be added?

I think they had exclusive rights to show all Premier League games 2 weeks for the midweek program and a Boxing Day fixture. During those midweeks they had games at 6 and 8:15 for like 3/4 days in a row so they had a glut of action and dealt with it well. Meant when Covid struck and the football restarted behind closed doors they were trusted with plenty more fixtures. Can see them being a more permanent feature of televised football soon.

Thanks. Sure I subscribed last December, seem to remember didn't know whether I was coming or going with games going on all over the place , but seemed like good value at the time. With Covid probably do it again.

Now I thought about it I think they only had hour gaps between kick offs so you were always going to miss one half of a game somewhere which wasn’t ideal but still decent enough having football on from 5-11. Some of the games were probably over by half time anyway, so you could just sack that one off for the next kick off.

Replying to an earlier question - I joined Virgin Media for the introductory offer price, paying £65 per month for broadband with TV and sports channels. Much faster speed on the fibre. Left BT once all the contracts expired. Another 15 months until VM expires and it goes up to £130 - when I'm on the move again.

As for TV football - it really is at saturation point. I'm in Tier 2 and home working. Went to see a local part time team at the weekend to get outside. All 32 FA Cup games on TV coming up... anyone planning to bag them all?

Ask them if they're doing any deals with you being a long standing VM
customer.
I normally won't pay for Sky Sports,but got it for £8 a month,for the next 18.

I think the last televised game I watched was Pools against Ilkeston which I streamed on my phone. Other than that I caught a few seconds glimpse of the Darlington FA cup match against Bristol Rovers.

I last saw a top flight game months ago when Liverpool did the trophy ceremony. VAR, crowd noise, I find it unwatchable shite. I've now took to groundhopping watching random non lesgue sides. I don't miss the premier league one bit and after the Torquay horror show, I can't even say I miss Pools that much either.

Not sure if you get the football with a free 30 day trial , sounds too good to be true, if this was the case who would pay? Its only £7.99 a month anyway , just remember to cancel in mid January.

Toon odds just gone out to 19/5.
One of the players was spotted eating one of Steve Bruces pork pies.

This is my first try of it in bottles although i have had a few draft pints and it was excellent.
I use that Footballontv site which is good. It lists Welsh Premier league games on S4C which is basically channel 4 in Wales which is viewable on Virgin 166 and Sky 134. Also has some Scottish games on ALBA Virgin 161 or Sky 143. The standard is very acceptable to supporters of Non League football sadx. Its quite funny listening in Welsh and Gaelic.

I had a look at their website, thinking of getting one of their bag in a box for over Christmas. I vaguely know the lads who run it, have met them in the Hops & Cheese a couple times, where you will usually find one of their beers on. Good to see their brewery appears to be gathering pace. I quite like the sound of their Cemetery Gates porter.
