as is Micky Barron.

Being the pessimist I am, that means that Joel will not be figuring against Alkmaar,
and makes me wonder where he figures in Mr. Wilson's pecking order.

Yes, I know everyone cannot play in every game, but Joel would be in my top three
strikers (Barker, Joel, Brown). I suppose he's got to test Moore out but I don't like the
vibes, that sends out !

McKay is in the Consett squad too which would leave Barker and Moore against the Dutch.
But I wouldn't worry. It's better for them to play a full game against Consett than 20 minutes as sub against Alkmaar. And I'd be surprised if the final team sheet was already pencilled in.

at least Joel's made the bench, and yes you are probably right.
However I still have reservations

I'm trying to make sense of the team.

Budtz, McCunnie, Elliott, Clark, Nelson, Antwi, Sweeney, Brown, Barker, Moore, Liddle

Would that be

....................Budtz

.............Clark Nelson Antwi
McCunnie ..........................Elliott
...............Sweeney Liddle

.............Brown Barker Moore..............

3-4-3 ?? sctatchinghead

There are a lot of left footed options on the bench with Humps Robson and Joel

I think it will be 5 - 3 - 2 or 5 - 3 - 1 -1

with Sweeney , Liddle , Brown the three

Apparently McKay has to play at least 45 minutes tomorrow night, so that is probably why he didn't figure tonight.

joel was probably the most impressive player on the entire pitch this evening. it was noticeable in the second half that van gaal kept pointing at him.
if moore starts ahead of joel this season i will give the game up altogether.

Agree, Joel was very good. Things seemed to happen when he came on. But Joel always has that little bit of extra quality.
