Well played Denmark

The Danish Government has become the first to announce that companies that are registered in tax havens won’t be eligible for Coronavirus crisis bailouts.

Seems fair enough

Except for all of the people that innocently work these firms.

I think warehouse workers etc are rarely aware of the companies moral or tax policies when they take jobs, most are through agencies and the people simply care about earning money.

I see Branson is once again requesting government help today for Vigin Airlines, saying they'll go bust without it.

He does make a decent point about his net worth being tied directly to the success of his companies and not necessarily liquid funds.

But on the other hand he's a massive knob.

On the other hand he probably has assets he could sell. Property, boats etc. He could easily make up the shortfall.

True. Be interesting to see what he does if no bailout does come his way. Although I won't hold my breath.

Sorry. But I doubt many of the general employees know about the tax status of the firms they work for. Imagine if no body took those jobs?

They would either go bust or change their working practices.

Companies getting bailouts from taxpayer but still paying dividends to shareholders. Try getting your heads round that lads.

Its the right thing to do , that's all that matters. Its totally wrong that companies can make huge profits , passed on to their shareholders , whilst avoiding paying tax. If some low paid , insecure , low paid jobs go so be it. They cant be allowed to continue to blackmail governments , who want jobs at all costs , set against a backdrop of a race to the bottom of the barrel culture

Arsenal never paid Dennis Bergkamp a penny in wages. He was paid by Dennis Bergcamp Ltd registered offshore somewhere, who were paid by Arsenal. Arsenal fans and football fans who admired his skills and goalscoring didn't seem to mind.

Just saying.
