How are politicians meant to get their message across if they aren't allowed to get away with just making shit up unchallenged?

He certainly wouldn't allow himself to be bullied and I wish other interviewees would follow the same stance, whoever they are.
After they both calmed down, every question was asked fairly with respect given to the interviewee and it was answered.
As for the guy being the most contemptible member of the house of commons, how the hell do you know that? How many do you know personally?
I expect your reaction from others but not from you John. You normally don't react in that sort of manner. And what happened to your claim that you judge the action and not the actor.
You are developing a serious hate for anything tory.
It's not healthy John and you know that.
I'm more worried that you are taking this route than anything IDS has to say.
I am being deadly serious.

‘Ere, I’ve got a horse that shits diamonds and some magic beans for sale, you want to buy them?

He introduced UC, the system which has seen thousands suffer under needless poverty and some have even died, he thinks 94 quid a week is enough to live on, yet claimed 35 quid for a breakfast in the House of Commons on expenses

You know as well as I do he’s a shite bag, or you must if you are a Labour voter like you claim to be

But I genuinely think you are an unhinged internet troll

You Mr Talbot put up an interview and I did you the honour of watching it and commenting on it. I commented on what I saw and what I heard And now you bring his past up blah blah blah, You lefties are all the same. As soon as someone gives a reasonable answer you jump in with and another thing and another thing and another thing, which is why you were so devastatingly hammered at the last election. No one falls for it anymore. Which part of that don't you understand. With the sensible majority on here speaking for the Labour party we haven't got a cat in hell's chance of being elected, thus keeping boris in power for as long as he likes. You lot are the best recruiting sergeants the tory party have ever had. Me, well I'll keep trying to make us electable. yawn2

Bullied? What on earth are you talking about. Gamal Fahnbulleh asked an initial question, total time: two seconds. Duncan-Smith dismissed that with a single word and then went off on an unrelated point where he was allowed to speak for 35 seconds uninterrupted before he told a blatant lie. Rather than let that pass, Fahnbulleh tried to interject mildly "with respect, Mr Duncan-Smith...", but Duncan-Smith was having none of it. It was he who wasn't treating the other party with respect, insisting that he should be allowed to "answer the question" despite the fact that he was not answering what he had been asked. He clearly went on there with some lines he was determined to say regardless, and didn't even give the presenter the basic courtesy of caring what question he was asked. He did exactly the same with the next question, completely ignoring it and talking about something else. He even contradicted himself within the interview, saying that the WHO should have warned us before January, despite having just claimed that they didn't warn us in January at all!

I do judge the action and not the actor. The action was a lie, and I would call that out whoever it was who was doing the lying.

I don't hate everything Tory. Don't be so bloody ridiculous. I don't really hate anybody, and there are Tories past and present who I have respect for. My contempt for bullshit-merchants like Duncan-Smith and Johnson has nothing to do with the party they represent, and everything to do with how their actions as the party in power can hurt people I care about. One of my closest friends lost his sister this week; another good friend has been badly ill since last month; my mother is very much in the vulnerable group; my sister and my best friend both work in the NHS. And yet i see these charlatans treating everything like an election campaign, sticking to their slogans, not answering questions, and refusing to accept even the slightest bit of culpability for any of the multitude of failures we've seen from them this year. I don't feel hatred; I feel intense frustration, fear, and a considerable amount of contempt.

When I said he was the most contemptible, you know what I meant, so spare me the increasingly tiresome pedantry. If you're going to try to be a smartarse, please start off by trying to be smart rather than just skipping to the end. If you can't do that, please leave me alone. I always try to be civil with people, but it's difficult if people have no desire to reciprocate.

That appears to be the rant of a guilty man. Obviously my concern has been ignored. Keep the hatred going boys and you'll have boris, IDS and all the other tories in forever.

just wish i could get really wound up about people i do not know even if i do not agree with them. doubt all this hate around will solve the present crisis we are in. do anybody anyway in this day and age believe any politician of any party at any single time unless their views are the same as theirs.
