As if this goon wasn't a big enough twat before he now says that his sweat shop based business is "essential" to keep the country fit and will keep Sports Direct shops open despite the new rules specifically stating only food shops and pharmacies should stay open, utter money grubbing, greedy sod. Who's going to be out to go in his shops anyway, its reprehensible that he could even consider putting profit before his employees lives, hope everyone refuses to go in to work there, but hey, I don't know how i will get by without a new rucksack, replica Bayern Munich shirt and a new tennis racket.

Flipping the coin, he's keeping people in paid employment when many are losing their jobs and, like you say, not many will be rushing to purchase sports equipment.
I can't stand the guy and I think sometimes he does things purely for a reaction, this appears to be one of them. He's got people talking about his company, so free advertising.

That’s not even the case they are on zero hours contracts and hours have been slashed to about four a week per staff member, they’d be better off out of work. I saw a Tweet from a girl in Ireland who has the misfortune to work for him and she stands to make 40 Euros a week.

He’s a bond villian level twat.

Been told they have to close now, shame it took that to do it but at least their staff will be safer.

He's not clever, he's just utterly ruthless. His distribution centre should have been shut down, he is effectively a modern day slave owner.

If anyone deserves to die a long lingering death it is him.

Can we add that mad crank who runs Weatherpoons to the put them out of business when this all over list?

He Basically paid all staff for hours worked up to March 22 (the day they had to close) told staff they will not receive any other payment until they get the government grant at the end of April with no clarity of how the 80% will be calculated as most are not on fixed hour contracts. He then urged staff to ‘try their luck at Tesco’

These twats have no regard for people’s financial or mental wellbeing, nobody should use these businesses again after this is over.

I've boycotted Spoons since they fucked my nephew over when he worked in one. Utterly disgraceful employment practices.

And have boycotted Sports Direct since I read about the report on working conditions in their distribution warehouse.

Haven't bought anything off Amazon for years since I looked into the amount of tax they dodge. Will never own an Apple product for the same reason.

I know pretty much all multinationals are shoddy outfits so its hard to afford giving none of them money, but these are on my hitlist.

Also said his staff won't be paid bonuses they've already worked for and earned, utter tool, its a long time since I was in one of his crappy sticky floored establishments and will never use one again.

Heard it's like working in a prison camp.

Oh well, who needs the unions lol, just a bunch of loony lefties caring for workers and human rights n that.

And that's why companies like Sports Direct are allowed to do what they do. People shouldn't have to boycott because this shite shouldn't exist in the first place

50% price rises now on things like skipping ropes on the online store.

It’s as if the bloke wants the World to hate him.

He’s finished himself in the last 48 hours but he seems to being played out in the main stream media as a bigger shitbag than Cummings and Johnson who are going to being responsible for the deaths of thousands of people which is a bit odd.
