De beloften van RKC WAALWIJK hebben gisteravond, toen het eerste elftal in Herpen tegen TOP Oss speelde, met 3-1 verloren van de Engelse derdedivisionist Hartlepool United.

De Waalwijkse beloften zijn nog niet zo lang in training als de profs uit Engeland en in de slotfase van de in Vaassen gespeelde wedstrijd maakten de Engelsen daarvan handig gebruik. Anthony Sweeney, Richard Barker en Ian Moore maakten namens Hartlepool de doelpunten.

Na de 1-0 van Sweeney kwam Jong RKC WAALWIJK nog knap terug. Ciawar Khandan haalde uit en Martijn Barto wist met de rebound wel raad: 1-1. Daarna maakten de conditioneel betere Engelsen pas het verschil.

Dinsdag staat de volgende oefenpartij voor Jong RKC WAALWIJK op het programma. De talenten nemen het dan op tegen Jong FC Eindhoven.

So they confirm we were indeed playing against the sprogs while the real men took on the team we deserted.
