The couple of you that we have here have in the past been generally reasonable however there are one or two posts that seem embryonically rivalsesque. Banter is fine but I'm not going to allow this board to develop into the pathetic playground slanging match that rivals has become.

I think he is reffering to some of the Poolies that for some reason, when i have put forward a reasoned debate, claim that I am known as either a) the worlds biggest lying bounder or b) that because i support a league one club i am not allowed an opinion on Pools.

Funny that, isn't it.

I would say is that behave in teh right manner and everyone can stay ...... if anyone cant then out they go. Sounds good enough to me. As long as it is fair to both parties then no one can complain.

Being from Leagues 1, 2, championship or prem should never matter. It is how you conduct yourself when you are on this message board.

It's not 'some of the Poolies.'

It's me!!  Credit where credit is due, eh?? It's for sure that if someone says they've got a black cat, you've got one blacker.

I've got an issue with Loids who perpetuate this 'you're crap and you're going to get relegated' bollocks when they have a perennially failing side. I mean who was reduced to 'ah but you failed to win the Championship' last season?? Us?? It was pathetic, we were promoted well before the seasons end and that was the best you'd got. If you had an opinion I'd listen to it but all you do is spout the same old hackneyed garbage every season. You could set your sun dial by it. It's just not interesting or relevant any more. yawn2

And you don't support a League One club (unless of course you're a closet Poolie blastt ), that is merely a pipe dream that will collapse into it's own ashes yet again fairly soon. There's little point in trying to maintain a rivalry that simply doesn't exist anymore. We're at Leeds, you're at Morecambe. rolfl rolfl End of.

I have never said you are crap, I have on several occasions said that any club in the god damn fourth division should aspire to do a 'hartlepool', spending a few years to get the foundations right, developing the youth system and getting on with things quietly, building a strong team and adding a couple each year to ensure consistency.

The only problem Hartlepool, to use an analogy, was that they built a great house and the building work was almost complete but they gave Scott the keys. Now with one of the best Managers about I think they will consolodate in league 1 albeit a close run thing next season. A lot of clubs have the initial yoyo as they adapt to a new division.

Now you're talking but there are a couple of inconsistencies that I feel duty bound to bring to your attention.

From the team that ran so close to the Championship on that hallowed Sunday, in front of a 60,000 crowd, four million avid Sky viewers and 2,557 green Loids, your average home crowd, we still have seven of that squad. Good enough then, good enough now. The Scott year was an aberration proved by the ease with which we extricated ourselves from the faux conference that is League Two at the first attempt, with the minimum of fuss and few, but key, additions.

Point being, we won't have any major adjusting to do as at least nine of the first team have been here or higher before and know exactly what's coming. We were simply to good to go down.

This thread and the "finishing position next season" one managed to converge a treat didn't they!
