I am happy that we are up there challenging and our away form is really good but looking back at the points we could( maybe should) have had, it tinges it a bit for me. I think we have made real progress since the recent dark days and maybe I'm being too greedy but this league is there for the taking if only we can somehow find the means to address our wastefulness in front of goal. There is a reason strikers are called strikers.
It's great to see midfielders and even defenders chipping in but teams very rarely win anything without a regular goalscoring striker or two.
We have improved that is a fact and I'm confident we will get better and better over time, so I suppose we'll just have to be patient, no matter how frustrating it is at times.

That's what we have been lacking for around 12-13 year a boydy like striker who can put away 20+ a season, We had Ritchie Barker in the 06-07 promotion season but he had good midfielders around him hence why he got goals.

Who was Dinanga playing for last season Burton? I can't find any info on google.

Scored 25 whilst on loan at Telford , a level or two below the National League.

Ahh i see, Still good going that, He's only 19-20 aswell isn't he? Sure they are in the national league north I think he'd be a good striker if he got a bit more game time, Maybe play him in the FA cup games and the FA trophy games and a league game or here and there I think Luke James will be burnt out around the 30th game all the running he does, Will be ideal to drop him a game here and there for his fitness.

one level below pools. would be interesting to know where they played him on the pitch to score that number. it certainly would not be upfront battling against a really big centre half.

Sounds like he is a striker, who plays out wide, benefitting from a big target man playing up top. Definitely sounds like he has potential and someone who can score goals, whatever the level can't be overlooked.

Stick him in for Donaldson tomorrow?

What at right wing back!? That’s probably how you destroy a kids confidence he doesn’t need defensive responsibilities and throwing into position he’s probably never played. Tomorrow I’d look to get on the front foot and dominate to bounce back from Tuesday and address the stuttering home form a change of system for me then revert back to 5-3-2 away.

I’d go;

.....................Loach...................

Kioso.......Magnay...Davies....Kitching

....................Featherstone...............

.................Woods....Noble..............

.......Dinanga.......................James

........................Muir....................

If Muir is out then maybe bring James central and Hawkes wide of the front three.

Not exactly, replace Donaldson , but with a more offensive role, lets face it , people have been saying our wing backs don't get forward enough. I don't think it would destroy him, we aren't playing a particularly good team tomorrow, they don't look the most physical either, and you did say a player needs games. Obviously he would be better off playing up front, but in this formation he may be as unsuccessful as James and Muir in terms of getting goals. From what I have seen I think he is out of his depth at this level, but he deserves a chance to prove himself. If either of the front 2 don't score shortly , maybe he should get hischance over one of them.

I'd be happy with that 4-3-3 as advocated by PJ.

We certainly should be looking to dominate the middle and take the game to a team who are struggling and are on the back of a lousy home defeat.

Tomorrow is a great chance to bang a few goals in and get the confidence back up.

3-4-3 didn’t work though for me it asked too much of the wing backs and far too much of the two in midfield. We created chances but also looked wide open and overrun in midfield.

I'd go with the 433 what PJ suggested, We need another body in midfield, I ain't a clue why Bates isn't playing 3 midfield anyway, Our midfielders have got the majority off the goals this season and we have a goalscoring midfielder in Woodsy who has hardly started this season, Didnt he get 11 goals from midfield last season in a very poor pools side?
