Barking, Mersea Island, Walton on the Naze and Shoeburyness in the 80's. Their music was everywhere, happy days.

Walton-on-the-Naze brings back some fond memories on holiday at relatives in fifties and sixties. 2 minutes walk to the beach, boating lake. Probably Before chas and Dave I think though

First time I went to Walton on the Naze we went into Frinton on Sea by chance.
No pubs allowed in the town or Fish and chip shops, a sort of fundamentalist Harrogate. The sea front had wooden memorial benches side by side, so much so the council stopped people paying for anymore. Never seen so many Allegro's with 256 miles on the clock, beige being the colour of choice. A world apart.

Yeah, people used to do that now you mention it. Some might as well of had no rear window in for all the stickers on them. One time if you gave some people a free sticker for any crap thing they'd bang it on their back window.
I once saw a one for a curtain shop driving through Dartmouth...Why?????
Funniest one i saw was on the same day on the Dartmouth ferry, little old lady in a Saxo with the sticker saying...' VERA, QUEEN OF SPEED'...it was true, off the ferry like a rat up a drainpipe into the distance.
