Looks like they both have "ate all the pies".

There's not a lot gets chucked out past these guys.

As for the rest of us, how many other places in this league have got in-house catering vs the movable burger van? I've now been to about 10 away grounds and maybe 2 of those 10 were permanent fixtures. I can't really comment on the lack of catering at Pools since I'm generally travelling up from London and eaten before the match. The closer we get back to the League and with bigger crowds, investment will follow.

You should never trust a thin chef!!! Now for the chips and asking them to do a mini pavo in a bun.

As it happens I know Matty Brown from way back. He's a lovely fella who has built a successful catering business - it's good news for anyone going along for a meal in the Cyril Knowles Stand. Means jack shit if you're in the queue for a pie or a bovril, unfortunately.

I think the boxes are only in use for people paying for them this season.

The chips you can have. The pheasant in a bun, not yet. Do they serve them at Southend's ground?

All the people who used to dish out tickle bellies to keep people onside are gone now so you’ll probably find a few empty boxes over the season

KFC in a box is usually spot on.

Pools must be losing a fortune with all the empty box's they should think of some way to get them filled

Maybe they should look at what they are offering for the price they are charging.

A decent run may improve things, 40 bar a head is about right, do you get free beer or pay extra for that?

For a table of 10 it's £60 a head and that's with a 3 course meal so really you paying 40 notes for a meal and programme and a little gift and the comfort of the box

I'm not going until

1. Its a tenner a head
2. Pools design an app that allows me to order drinks and get them brought to the table
3. Jacob Rees-Mogg is PM
4. We've left the EU and re-joined again
5. Pools get prompted
6. My car passes its MOT
7. It stops raining
8. Buddy Holly releases a new album
9. The Queen pops her clogs
10. The new King then pops his clogs

C'mon 'Pools, sort it out!

Is it still a carvery or are there other options? Maybe they should post a menu.
What did you have Mr Kint?

I had for starters some sort of hard bun with cheese and salami on it was nice but a bit hard.

Main was chicken with boiled tatties and long green things and a fantastic sauce

And then a cheesecake for afters or you could have a cheese board instead at halftime.

All washed down with a gallon of lager

I think that is the answer why nobody is turning up.

I've been informed that my hard bun was Bruschetta so it's posh hard bread.

Can't fault food though very nice but if your not all swanky Molly ponce like myself you could just opt for the carvery in the maidens suite

I think the whole deal needs a rethink. I believe it is £50 in the Maidens Suite and £40 for ST holders. £40 for a carvery????? Really????
It's different for companies, they have ways and means of getting their money back or gaining business from entertaining their clients but I would never dream of forking out £120 for us three to have a carvery.
I'm all for Pools making money out of catering but that doesn't happen if the place is empty.
They have to either, make the deal more attractive or, convince people that the experience is worth it.
I wish them well.

Who needs a 3 course lunch, I would go traditional beer battered cod(have a fantastic recipe) thrice fried chips and mushy peas or go the afternoon tea route that people seem crazy about and a glass of prosecco, sandwiches in home made Foccacia, yeah baby

I would like to see you put in charge of all Pools catering, if you have the time that is.

At Football, afternoon tea and prosecco?

Most people who enjoy a day in the boxes are drinking, it’s that type of day, you need something more substantial than an egg and cress sandwich and a scone. As for the glass of fizz!!?

The product has to be value for money just to go in the Maidens Suite if the prices that Mr Derwent quoted are correct it isn’t especially for a season ticket holder who has already got a ticket for the match. Why don’t they offer a menu to season ticket holders without a match ticket included? If the food was good I am sure people would use it including away fans. How much are the boxes these days?

You could offer that in the Maidens suite maybe, not in the boxes though unless it was after the match after already eating pre match you are in from 1-6ish.

I went in a box at St James' Park once, a mate's boss gave it to him when a client they were grovelling to pulled out at short notice. The deal was loads of finger food - sandwiches, fried chicken, mini-pizzas etc- and your drinks. Also you got covered parking, very comfy seats and a live TV feed.

The selling point seemed to be a chance to show off to clients and then talk to them privately while at a football match - all paid for by company expenses. The food was just OK but bland. You'd have to be very rich or very daft to get a box there for personal use and I don't think the big clubs seriously expect to sell many that way.

Pools need to offer something that is reasonable value as a special treat that people with ordinary jobs might pay for out of their own pockets - there can't be many businesses who think they can impress clients with non-league football.
