Before I start I am the one normally slated for being ultra critical but ................a competent display last night from Anderson, Kiosso, Kitching improving in getting forward, James worked hard without any goal threat, so did Noble, but for me Nico's touch and play with the ball at his feet made him top man and not far behind was Featherstone. Credit where it is due he won 2 tackles and was the best passer on the pitch playing in some nice balls on the deck and as good a game as I have seen him have.

Had a brief exchange with Jed McNamee as players came out at the start of the second half. What a genuine nice man, not your typical arrogant ranting and raving coach and the good thing is he and I agreed on the instructions of get the ball into Nico and Luke's feet. I think Mr McNamee is giving the right messages as a coach and a good appointment.

Where to improve:

1. Finishing plenty of drills on Thursday please
2. Looking to be more effective on the break when we are defending working on touch, hold, lay off and second runs from strikers and midfield
3. Operate with a genuine back 5 close together with no spaces in between as seen with last night's goal when defending that means wing backs play as old fashioned full backs and we rely on the front two to hold the ball and interchange passes and move when it is tight.
4. Two players, who I will not name, need to stop trying to play at 200 mph and instead just make sure they can pass and move with colleagues better.

Just thought we were unfortunate last night. However, this is the second game I have seen this season and the passing from Pools has been a million miles away from football league standard hence 6th of bottom and no win at a ground no better the old ground at Wingate !
