Would rank up there as one of our best bits of business in the last 10 years.

It's not out of the realms of possibility but I highly doubt it

Given he barely played for Scunny last season and only played 8 times on loan to Northampton it's hardly unbelievable but it would still be a great signing.
It's been a while since we snapped up all the best available local players, last time we did I seem to remember we did alright!

His Boro background and presumably connections to both Higgy & Bates certainly makes the rumour believable.

He could be considering us a good place to resurrect his career.

Clearly there will be no Wood's replacement why has deal fallen through? This is the second time this has happened - January deadline as well I believe.

Fallen through? First, it's only a rumour, second the rumour seems to be about a player who is a free agent and could be signed at any time.

Oh, and third, Woods hasn't gone yet!

The rumour about Woods going in January to I can’t even remember who now (it might have been Peterborough it was definitely someone in League One) was absolute bobbins, one of those fake agent Twitter sites that if you actually read for about thirty seconds you can see that nothing that is tipped ever comes off!!

It ended up in the Mail though

Something is going on now, maybe it’s Hignett/Bates trying to move him on as he’s not really been involved during pre season or the first two games which is strange for a lad who scored 11 goals from midfield last season?

One thing I thought that didn’t add up on Tuesday if Woods was on his way was that it was Hawkes who made way on the bench for McLaughlin.

Don't know what the craic is with Hawkes, every time he has played he has done ok, yet seems to get p*ssed about big time. I rate him and would like to see him starting never mind on the bench. He should be on 50+ appearances by now. No doubt we will be getting an 18 year old on loan from Boro soon sctatchinghead

I see Jack Blackford scored a hatrick for Shildon in their first game of the season last weekend, 4-1 win at Guisborough.

Shildon eh? Looks like we've made a huge mistake!

He's had a strange career, trials at Man City and Rangers now playing against Guisborough. Hope he gets himself back on track as he certainly had something about him.

Personally I think people read far too much into players having trials at bigger clubs.

Means fuck all.
