So apparently McLaughlin was better then Kioso yesterday.

I can only assume he didn’t actually attend and was advised by a partially sighted associate with learning difficulties.

Kenton Richardson 7!!? Also a better mark than Kioso who I thought was our best player yesterday. Pickled onions for eyes springs to mind.

I thought Richardson really struggled to be honest and offered very little. He’s certainly filled out and looks a big strong lad now but maybe for the detriment of a bit of athleticism and pace. His running style has shades of Jon Bass!

I’d have gone

Loach 6
Richardson 4
Kitching 4
Davies 6 (Laing 5)
Kioso 7 *
Magnay 6
McLaughlin 5
Noble 5
James 5
Muir 6
Cassidy 4

And the Newton twins. Connor came on as sub for Kioso whereas Connor was unused.

Not normally one to knock players, but kitchings performance was up the with one of the worst I've ever witnessed

I have sympathy for the wing backs and the central midfielder 3-4-3 does ask a lot of them. Kitching did alright first half but got gradually worse as the game went on.

Kitchen couldn't time an egg, his efforts at going for headers are embarrassing.

Don't think we have any players who are capable of playing wing backs to be honest.

To be fair to Richardson he is an out and out right back for me. Like Simpson before him and now Hawkes, he needs a run in the team, 6 games at least in his best position. Of course after yesterday he will now be dropped , and wont be seen again until October/ November time. You couldn't make this up.

Kioso and Muir best players yesterday, with Kioso shading it for me.

Weak link is definitely the wing backs, not impressed with Kitching so far, looks like he is playing a league above his level.

In the wing back position yes , but both shouldn't be playing there. Why isn't Donaldson playing in the positions he has played in the past?.

Richardson needs a run in the team, he didn’t do too bad last season before he was injured, and ebbsfleets goal came from Kitchings side, same as tues night when kioso
Gave away a free kick, as for Donaldson he has a heart as big as a pea, and is easily shrugged off the ball, he is that good no one came to buy or offer him a loan deal elsewhere

Totally agree. The kid deserves and wants a chance. Donaldson expects a place and has never done anything to deserve it. He was even hiding at Tranmere on the last day of last season. Oh, and, er, that's a FACT.

Kenton looks like a deer caught in the headlights, he gets far too close to the winger and when running at him he sells himself and the winger away, he needs coaching in how to defend.

What’s his job in this system though?

Technically he’s playing right midfield in a 3-4-3 but is expected to act as both a right back and join in with the outnumbered midfield.

At the end of day we are playing Non League Football and someone like Richardson is an inexperienced kid. Just ask him to play right back it’s notFootball Manager I think Bates has got carried away watching the World Cup.

Remind me what threat we had down the right hand side yesterday that wasn't Luke James coming wide to pick it up? Compare that to the last two games.

Remind me how many attacks went down our right yesterday. Compare that tot he last two games.

Yes Donaldson isn't a great player, however he's the only player we have that can play that position to any level of adequacy. The kid deserving a chance has nothing to do with it, he just isn't that good a player.

Kitching jumps so early for his headers he starts them before the game. Never seen anything like that before.

Richardson is no better than Jordan Richards, wish we still had duckworth he’d be perfect for that role.

I seen Richardson at beamish last week. Should have given him some tips on how to tackle

The first time I saw Kitching was the Sunderland friendly when he was imperious in the air he literally won every single aerial dual in fact it looked like a tactic that Loach picked him out. He was a good outlet on Tuesday as well getting in at the back post plenty, he had a poor game on Saturday especially second half but he’s shown some promise and played plenty of games in League One last season. It’s asking a lot of the wing backs playing without an extra man in midfield to cover when they go forward and it’s asking a lot of our centre midfield to play as a two with wing backs and three strikers.
