It makes more sense for them to be that way really I’m not really sure why they have been like that for years.

usually home managers like to be nearer the linesman but as both dugouts at VP are in the same half of the pitch (i think) then no advantage can be gained.

Closer to the subs warming up, maybe means they can pass messages to subs for players without shouting it across the away dugout.
