Jesus probably hasn't the experience required for this job. Maybe with The Pope as his assistant it could work.

I don't think the fans would welcome Barry Chuckle back after his bust up with Ben Clark.

Dad might apply. He's 77 has Dementia (on the plus side he won't remember if he doesn't get paid/or how bad the team played) and part blind. I will take a job as his "assistant/carer" and in the past have taken Pools to 10+ Premier League titles, numerous FA,League,European and World Club Championship trophies (Football Manager).

Looking like a good partnership. What are Dads odds?

PS Can't make Monday or Tuesday night games due to Darts and Doms, so fixtures may need re-arranging. Also Pools will have to play away when the \metropolis are at home, as I have a season ticket. Apart from these few things that need ironing out 10/10 as candidates.

PS Catering facilities will be Chicken orientated (non negotiable), hope this isn't a deal breaker!

After Craig Hignetts comments at the HUST meeting, I'd stick a few 0's after that 8

Unless of course the owners are changing and one of his mates is taking over....

Can’t see why they’d sack a manager when the club under current ownership isn’t expected to be around much longer

That can be the only logical reason, other than the fact it was nailed on he was taking us down, but that wouldnt really bother our owners.

There is no doubt anything up to 500 supporters could of been lost in the next few weeks as supporters started to take their ire out on Harrison, and would of one by one walked away whilst he was still here.

Don’t be too hard on him. I’m sure he can get us heading in the right erection.

I will never get that image out of my head, never, but to be fair he’s still the only Pools player past or present who’s erect penis I have seen a picture of. Not sure where I am going with this now.

Err anyway shouldn’t have the lazy twat been playing for much of this season? Especially recently?

Assuming the job advert has the key points under essential knowledge/skills?

- leave one up when defending a corner (essential)
- playing two up front (essential)
- take the blame himself after a defeat (desirable)
- sign players from a particular agency (essential)

Any fit the bill?

Thank God there was no such thing as Social Media when Bob Newton was at Pools. Reckon he had a todger like a babys arm

Say the club wasn't in the mess it's in would you really sign Ince? Just another big name that would want a massive salary

I’m completely baffled by it all to be honest. How can we sack a manager when we have just had fans pay the Tax Man? How can we even contemplate recruiting another one when it’s been suggested that only because other fundraising money last Saturday’s and this home games have gone ahead?

I have two things going around my head the first is that they are just trying to keep people relatively onside and distract them from the final phase of the dismantling of the club. The other is that they are acting under the instruction of potential new owners. I know what I think is the most likely to be honest and very sadly. What gets me is if I was Craig Harrison I’d want any severance payment up front given the current state of the club. So maybe something is in the offing. Forget how bad a manager he was the whole thing leaves more questions than answers. I mean where are these Paul Ince rumours coming from?

I’m seriously confused and surprised by today’s events.

They are no worse off financially then they were at 9 o clock this morning. They have just taken some heat off themselves. It says on the site they are now going to look for a new manager. I'm sure they will string that out until they either put the Club into Administartion or sell it.
This stuff about new owners wanting him sacked and replacing him with Paul Ince is absolute rubbish. Any proper owner would want to advertise the job propely and see who applied rather than going for someone who was a disaster at his last 3 clubs and has been out of work for nearly 5 years !

I think we just need to trust Paul Watson on this one his record in recruitment and that is second to none.

Now where did I leave my crystal meth.

This.

If new owners are lined up, then shirley they would be able to do whatever hiring and firings are needed when in charge. It can't be a condition for purchase; it makes no sense.

That only leaves alternative 1 (or some other hitherto unconsidered circumstance)

If new owners were in the pipeline it would have got out if they were hiring and firing managers.

Getting rid of Harrison probably takes the heat off from some quarters as some people seem completely oblivious to the state of the club and have been going on like one bloke picking a football team is our biggest problem when in reality the club could have weeks left. No way in the position the club is in can they even contemplate recruiting a new manager and no way would a creditable candidate even contemplate taking the job right now with so much uncertainty surrounding things. I mean are the players and staff even going to get paid next week?

It won’t be anyone until something changes is my guess.

What the fuck is Watson still doing at the club? We are on the bones of our out arse and continue to employ this parasite. What was that bollocks that was leaked out the other week about him being set to leave? He was there representing the club last night. It’s all just to keep people nice and placid and distracted.

What it does is exactly this, everyone changes subject and it takes the focus of finance and the fact that no one in the right mind would buy the club.

The needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before...

Aye backed by his fathers millions. No way he’s leaving that job. Harrogate fans don’t think much of him and he struggled given the resource he had before they went full time this year.

Why would any manager with a brain want the Hartlepool job under the current circumstances? He would have to be mad.

It would be career suicide. As the last few have found out, unless the club is solvent and well run behind the scenes, they are pissing against the wind. The HUFC managers job would destroy any up and coming manager, who would probably do well at a more solvent/well run league 1 club, for example Alun Armstrong at Blyth Spartans.

Get new owners, get the club ran properly, then lets talk about an up and coming manager to take us forward on the field.

Agreeing with Mr Horden. Seen loads of people spouting about who they would like and who the wouldn't like but lets be realistic. At present there is NO money to pay anyone. Secondly the club is only going week to week and could be put into administration at any time. Anyone giving up a secure job to step into this scenario needs their head examined.
However IF an investor/consortium can be put in place it is a whole different scenario. At the present time this is not the case and I imagine we are stuck with what we have got.

Gosh, you haven't been this exercised on here since the last series of X Factor finished.

As others keep pointing out, there are much bigger issues to worry about that the temporary appointment of a caretaker manager.

Though I appreciate it will be awkward for the Bates obsessives if Pools go on a bit of a run :-) If the team carries on losing he'll be yesterday's news quicker than a delivery of KFC chickens.

According to Loughlin in today's Echo looks like its probably going to be Ratboy Clark, and we all thought it couln't get worse. Although he strangely seems to have disappeared from BetVictor's market on the job, so there may be some hope, he could have spontaneously combusted since Loughlin wrote the article.
