If you're going to quote the other board PJ, you could at least cut and paste :-)

Will believe it when Yubep spots them in Asda.

Would love to see the pair of them at the self service check outs, be like a carry on film.

I've been told it's Watson and Duxbury. I thought he'd left?

sctatchinghead So useless no one can be better??

Sacking the manager would be pointless unless there's a potential takeover deal in place.

According to the club website Jeff Stelling is still listed as Honorary President. Didn't he resign from that position?!

It gets a wage off the bill whilst negotiations take place over a pay off, which if the club is liquidated, he wont see much of.

Does it? He'd have to be paid off presumably or his contract paid in full unless he's breached his contract in some way.

As its a football debt it needs to be paid off in full if you want to keep the club going. If its liquidated then he'll get next to nowt after Sage get what they can.

Yeah sacking someone 8 months into a three year deal would be hardly getting him off the wage bill they’d have to agree a severance package. If that was the idea they’d just let him continue until the club was liquidated.

All very confusing stuff but I’m only passing on what I’ve heard!

But if they dont pay him anything until the severance package is confirmed, or have him on reduced wages until then, they will be saving money wont they.

Surely you can’t just drop someone’s wages

Depends on the terms in their contract. Might be a clause for gardening leave etc.

His severance deal will count as a football debt so administration wouldn't have any effect on the cost. Hopefully a prospective new owner has told Sage to sort some things out before a deal can done. That would also explain the timing of the announcement of Watson's departure. To see these things happening has to be viewed as a positive move. Wonder if the new owner wants Pam removed as well?
