I have some good binoculars you can borrow so if you get to the top of the Minister you should have a reasonable view.

Usually one of the better away days. I won't be partaking , but I'm hoping we can follow up yesterdays great result and performance with a win here. They were the worst team we have played this season, albeit a few of their better players were missing apparently.

anyone know where they will put us. sometimes away fans are put in the old stand opposite where the teams come out and on other occasions the side of their main stand. saves you walking round the ground after parking if you know before hand.

Probably this stand , as reckon will be more than 250 but not enough to warrant letting us behind the goal.

Was really hoping this game would be a Saturday before fixtures came out, really fancied going but can't due to work. Disappointing after missing out on my trip to barrow!.

We were in that stand last season. The bogs will take you back to a time where it was deemed ok to piss against a wall in the pitch black. And they fooking stank!!

seems like we.ll find out when we get there. varies depending on what away following they expect so most likely the old stand. looks better in the photo than it actually is. pity it isn,t a saturday game for those who have never been as there are good boozers their and a town centre that wasn,t destroyed by the planners in the 60/70,s.

Was that when the police horse slipped on the wet cobbles, the copper falls off and the horse ran off - much to the delight of the Poolies standing outside The Shay....

Aye, chants of 'she fell over' she fell over'..............

And the West Yorkshire's finest (shittiest?) appear in a Blue Transit van, pretending to be the SPG!

And then they got tasty again at full time...............

I sang the last three posts in a school play ground type way and then stuck my tongue out.

Snap, Richy. Before this season’s fixtures were announced, the one match I flagged up was Barrow away followed by Halifax, Torquay and Aldershot. Not because I had any great wish to visit Barrow (although I had never been there) but because the last time I saw them play was when I was still at school.

Watching the weather forecasts prior to the game and noting that they had just had a home game postponed, I rang them on the Wednesday and was informed that they’d had the covers on and were reasonably confident that the game would go ahead. On the train up, the earlier bright morning soon disappeared to be replaced by constant rain and gloom with my hopes dropping likewise. However, as we approached Barrow, the sun came out but I soon discovered that the game was off. I try to take a couple of photos of ‘new’ grounds but as the place was deserted, the only one I could manage was to poke the lens through a hole that someone had ‘made’ in an exit gate. As Horden said in another thread, the ground looked quite dilapidated from the road.

My connecting train at Lancaster was over thirty minutes late due to a problem with a freight train at Oxenholme. I arrived home, three figures down on a wasted journey, a couple of taxis at my end and a sarnie and coffee and feeling somewhat pissed off.

Fast asleep at half four in the morning, I was awoken by a tremendous thud to my head which even my luxurious locks couldn’t withstand. Despite a lot of blood on my head, I had no idea what had clocked me until the missus found the body of the guardian angel which had been attached to the wall above the bed (the wings still were) between the pillows.

The person who coined the phrase, “You should have stayed in bed” after having a shitty day, well, bollocks to that.

So, you were hit on the nut by a falling angel that had lost it's wings...

Have just re-read Book Six of Paradise Lost. There's nothing in there about a postponed game at The Shay but if I were you I'd leave the apples alone till after full time tonight.
