Just gave a shout out to Hartlepool College of Art while receiving his BAFTA.

Can we persuade him to buy us?

I dropped on here a few weeks ago that his first film was called "a boy on a bike" and was filmed entirely in Hartlepool and Seaton about 1960, featuring his brother on a bike (surprisingly enough)

It's a good watch for those that can remember the steel works in Seaton and the blue lagoon. Seaton shops have hardly changed!

Would the match highlights all be in a gloomy post apocalyptic monochrome?

We could do with that Alien at centre-half.

I remember reading somewhere the dark, dreary opening sequence to Blade Runner was based on the ICI/Boro skyline

I watched it again recently and there is an unmistakable likeness. My art teacher at 6th form studied with him and said the above is true as well. The whole film was mindblowingly ahead of its time.
