Hello everyone, first-time poster and this is what I posted on the other fans’ board.

Really gutted to hear and read about the situation Hartlepool United are in and just want to let you know that football fans across the country are rooting for you and hoping you can come out the other side.

I've twice been to The Vic. A 3-3 draw with Swindon Town during Danny Wilson's days but it was when I came across for the Carlisle United game on Good Friday last season that I felt an affection for your club. I just loved my trip over, met a couple of friendly people before and afterwards, loved the ground itself, the matchday programme. I just had a really good day out.

Less said about the quality of the game the better but the size of the crowd that day and the atmosphere made it special. I had time before my train back to Newcastle to stand on the bridge over the railway line and look over to the ground with the floodlights standing tall (there was a feature in WSC magazine that had this very picture a year or so ago) and thinking that's how it should be for a town and its club as well as thinking what a great little place this was. It helped that it was sunny for most of the day.

I watched the Doncaster game on Sky after my own team's game that day and couldn't believe the outcome. I kept up with developments in the summer and felt, despite National League history suggesting otherwise, that Poolies would have a great chance to get back up at the first attempt.

Obviously things have not worked out this season and the situation appears bleak from what I've read tonight with the potential investor pulling out and goodness knows what the exact state of affairs at the club is financially.

Ahead of the Wrexham game, I wanted to do my bit to help so I stuck £20 into the justgiving page and decided to join the supporters' trust on the same night!

You don't need an outsider telling you what's what but please don't give up. There are thousands of you who can make a difference, even if the club goes into administration. You also look like you have a council doing whatever it can to keep you alive and the people of the town own the ground which is a major positive.

If you need to start over, so be it, but cross that bridge when you come to it. Join the trust and unite behind one group. Hartlepool United is well worth saving. I wish you the very best of luck, I'll be following events closely and hope one day to be back over for a game at The Vic although a free Saturday on February 10 means I hope to get down for the Barrow game.

I spend many a happy time in Dumfries and Galloway and have watched the Doonhammers a few times.

Queen of the South are a terrific club and very similar to Pools. Play in blue and white even, however you seem to be well run and having a great run of it in the Championship.

I’ll be there again in the spring, in the Anchor in Kippford, enjoying the ale and the fantastic scenery. Thanks for your support and hope QOTS get to the promised land

Doonhammer, is 82 the number of years you've been supporting QoS?
