A candlelit vigil with fairy lights for a stray Dog, I’m sorry but that’s embarrassing it makes the Town look backward.

It’s the people who tied it up and mistret it in the first place who deserve the anger really.

Sorry stray was the wrong word it was abandoned, on waste ground in freezing January. I reckon the anger should be aimed at whoever put it through that ordeal.

It was streamed on Facebook live by the Hartlepool Mail unruly, and it was embarrassing.

whoever put that dog through that, tying it to a lamppost and leaving it in the middle of January needs a long look at themselves. I suspect they won't give it another thought.

Whatever the ins and outs were of what happened this post on Facebook perfectly illustrates my point here;

“This town is crackers we’ve got a football team on the brink of liquidation, a ghost hospital and an urgent care centre that’s useless yet we’ve managed to start a petition with 40,000 signatures and hold a candle lit shrine for a dead dog”

Meanwhile the twat who caused this situation slips quietly into the background.
As for the vigil, can you recall any victim of an horrific crime in this town getting a candle-lit vigil?
As a footnote, and this was't in Hartlepool, a couple of weeks ago I saw a woman on a beach with her little dog. Her and the dog had matching leather hooded jackets with fur trim and were enjoying each other's company as the pampered pooch was a proper attention seeker. Her young daughter (about 8) tagged along behind, ignored and nowhere near as well dressed as the yapper. Funny old world.

I seen one women comparing it to the time we hung the monkey.

She's spot on.

I have no idea of the ins and outs of the law, so i dont know whether the police acted accordingly or not, the facebook police certainly dont help by judging incidents on rumours n half truths.

That vigil though ffs.

I'm sure i've seen a go fund me page set up too in order to give it a good send off, i dont know how they can do that without actually having the dog.

Hartlepool is the cruelty to animals capital of England, even the coppers are at it. Surprised the council don't hold an annual convention on to boost the economy.

I have a relative who is an RSPCA inspector and the amount of crap they get for trying to do their best for animals but having their hands tied because of laws and/or police involvement is incredible. People use them as an animal emergency service and forget they are a charity.

I had a lovely walk along the beach today from Blackhall to The Globe. On the way, noticed at Crimdon , the Little Tern Hut had been burned to the ground.

And Jesus Wept!

What is the matter with people in this neck of the woods? not just the bounders who commit these crimes ( who should be bummed with a red hot poker ) but their parents, grandparents, get a grip FFS! before the North East and especially Hartlepool disappear into the ABYSS. We all have a part to play in making our surroundings better.
