this thread could reach 100 pages. Easily. There are so many people who have disgraced the shirt in my lifetime that I can't even begin to list them. It's easier to generalise with a full squad from particular seasons - so mine are 76/77 season (except Poskett and Goad), 82/83 season (except the Linighans),83/84 season, 93/94 season (except MacPhail, Houchen and Southall), 94/95 season (except MacPhail, Houchen and Southall). A few other seasons have seen us produce poor results with under-performing players, who should have done better than they did because they had the ability -but couldn't be arsed to do it - and other seasons where we have had four or five class players mixed with five or six donkeys.

Do loan players count?

Indeed we did, highly rated he was. After he left us he went back to Merseyside and played in Northwest Counties (Northern League level) and now runs a Funeral Directors - I've driven past it!

Of the others mentioned.... Habron was I recall signed to play in a League Cup Tie, as Sun'lun had refused permission for us to play MacPhail - it was a case of find someone, anyone who we could play there and Harbron had a long history for Synners - he was never going to play more than that one game, so it's a little unfair to list him.

Paul Beavers is the one that immediately sprang to mind for me - I remember posting on the old Mailing List something like "White men can't jump.... well this one can't!"

Other dishonourable mentions include John Gallacher, who had about two good moments for us, not even matches, a multitude of strangers in the night from the Tait era and just before like Daughtry, and a few names of the ilk of The Other Colin West, Scott Sloan and Lawrence Davies.

Derek Downing........................fast as fook to the bye line, beat the last man then........fall over. sort of a 70's white, bearded, hippyish Emile Heskey, Used to get well slated by the Mill House Boo Boys.
